Today we’d like to introduce you to Chantale Smith.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Well, I got into Bridal Hairstyling in 2019, and Cosmetology school in 2014, but my mother was a hairstylist growing up and whenever she would style her clients, I would do the same on my Barbie dolls hair, so you would say I found the love of styling hair at a young age.
I got to where I am today by working hard and trying to perfect my craft, by pulling my mannequin heads out and perfecting different hairstyles, my unique creativity helps me stand out.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not been a smooth and easy road, I have lost family and close friends along the journey, and I had some health challenges along the way, from my lungs being inflamed to my heart beating irregular due to anxieties, and then to a lump in my chest that became a cancer scare. But through it all, I prayed to Jehovah God for strength and endurance. Because at those moments I was dealing with these things I had brides scheduled to have their hair done for there big day, I had to make sure I came in smiling and shinning my beautiful energy, Because it was about them and I wanted to make sure I always portrayed that constantly.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a Hairstylist
I specialize in Bridal Hairstyling.
I am most known for Bridal Hairstyling.
I am most proud of where I am today and how much my success has build up through the years especially during the pandemic because I have seen businesses closing down and I just kept rising, also the different relationships that I have made with my clients and business associates along the way.
Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
The best advise I can give anyone who would like to become a Bridal Hairstylist is do not give up, work hard, work hard on the weekends, take classes with other hairstylists, learn new techniques, and ALWAYS accept constructive criticism it will help you grow.
The one thing I wish I knew when I was starting out would be you are not going to be great overnight it takes time and endurance through it all.
