Today we’d like to introduce you to Charlotte Munder.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Growing up in South Florida, I was raised in a very creative and entrepreneurial environment. My parents both love architecture and design. Together they have designed and renovated many homes, offices, boats, and retail spaces in collaboration with several talented designers. Over the years, I was exposed too and often immersed in these projects and learned through osmosis.
I have always had a passion for creative expression. I have studied theatre, photography, jewelry design, fashion, fine art, and interior design. In many ways, I am a Renaissance woman. It is important to me that my path encompasses many of these creative outlets.
I earned my B.A. in Art History and Communications from the University of Michigan, Magna Cum Laude. I then moved to New York City to continue to pursue my love of design. I began in the fashion industry working with such brands as Sam Edelman, ELLE, and Rent the Runway as well as projects for Tom Ford, Tommy Hilfiger, Swarovski, and Donna Karan. After several years I went on to work with my mother at Laura Munder Fine Jewelry. While there, I created capsule collections in partnership with local charities.
I decided to go back to school to expand upon my love of interior design. I received my graduate AAS degree in Interior Design and Architecture from The Parsons School of Design with honors and spent time working for the esteemed interior design firms Pembrooke & Ives and David Scott Interiors, honing my craft.
While working remotely in Florida for a firm in New York City during the pandemic lockdowns, I realized how wonderful it was to be back home with family. I come from a family of entrepreneurs, and it was always my ambition to have my own business. The strange circumstances of the last few years presented that opportunity to me.
I realized my journey of the previous ten years provided me with tools to weave a tapestry of my cumulative experiences together and carve out a niche for myself. I am always continuing to evolve and finding new ways to share the creative facets of my life.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Any endeavor worth taking on will come with challenges. One of the keys to growth is pushing yourself outside of your comfort zone. Often it is there that you will find new exciting opportunities and growth.
As every first-time business owner can attest to, there is a learning curve. Not only am I a designer, but I am now also an accountant, logistics manager, HR and so much more.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I believe in the saying, the harder you work the luckier you get. Everyone needs a little luck, but you need to be well prepared and in a place to be able to capitalize on it. Often times what may seem like bad luck in the moment may actually present unforeseen areas in which to evolve or diversify.
