Hidden Gems: Meet Ethan Sonis of Satsoccer

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ethan Sonis.

Hi Ethan, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started playing soccer at an early age and fell in love with the sport having the opportunity to play in one of the top academies in the United States at Fc Dallas and eventually moving to Europe to follow my dreams. Had the opportunity to experience playing professional in Germany at SC Freiburg and part of the US under 20 national team. Always as a player, I had itch about learning and always looking to improve. As a professional soccer player, you have a lot of downtime and I fell in love with teaching the game and overtime it evolved and had a passion for adding value to player’s games from kids to professional soccer players.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I will always be grateful for the journey as the process is a lot better then just getting to the final destination. Being able to go through the ups and downs has taught me so much as a young entrepreneur and knowing what it takes to take a business from 1 kid to over 400 youth players and 40 professional soccer players. The journey is always difficult and getting the vision across is always the challenge but as time goes more and more people start to see the use case and believe and trust in the product.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Satsoccer says it in the name Sat, specialized advanced training. The training that we provide here is extremely advanced and game applicable training sessions. We are known all around from our youth side to our professional players that we work with for high-intensity game applicable training. Professional players fly down from all parts of the world like Sebastian Driussi who played in Russia or Andres Guardado that plays in Spain to get the game specific soccer training during their offseason. What sets us apart from other brands is the attention to details. We focus a lot on the small details and working game specific with the players breaking the game down to the smallest version in order for our professional players to see where we can improve and get 1% better. What I would like people to know is if your an elite professional player or youth, the training offered is extremely intense and adds the added value to your game.

What does success mean to you?
What I define success is facing challenges and to be able to overcome them in your own way. Everyone is successful in whatever they are in but for me success is how you deal with adversity and how you make it on the other side that to me is the highest form of success.
