Today we’d like to introduce you to Vanessa Cesar.
Hi Vanessa, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My story begins ever since I was a little girl, I was always that girl who often stayed quiet with a big smile on her face, lending a hand to any and everyone. Starting with close friends, to their friends, family members and even strangers. Growing up, I was always the strong friend everyone can call on and still is till this day. With me, you are in a total judge-free zone as I believe that is the reason I am known to many and highly favored. I’ve always carried a positive mindset, attitude and motivated others whenever and where ever I went no matter the circumstances. This is where I grew my passion; to help others. I grew to be that person I wish I had when I was little. I grew to be that person to count on through tough times and that’s what kept me going. The ability to see everyone’s transformation from having a person like me in their life. Becoming that person to others brings joy to my heart. The woman I today was built from that, I consider myself a woman of Confidence, not only physically but mentally, emotionally and even spiritually. When life throws bricks, I catch them and build something out of it. In the words of many, Life is the best teacher ever. It takes depression to know happiness. Stress to understand calmness and absence to value presence. I consider myself certified in bouncing back. I find the light in any situation, and I will continue to do so. Overall, by helping others, I helped myself.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
In all honestly, getting to the place where I am now have not been a smooth road. I have been through a variety of situations most didn’t find themselves out of. For example, I’ve been sexually assaulted and I was falsely arrested and held which was never shared. Behind all that pain and breakthrough, I birthed a purpose. Through all that I’ve gone through, I’ve birthed wisdom to share with the world. I am truly an example of “Your past or present circumstances does not define who you are” and I’ll continue to present that.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Currently, I am a Certified Medical Assistant, College student Studying Sociology in Crime and upcoming Entrepreneur. I am most known for my Confidence in life. I consider myself a Confidence influencer not just physically but mentally, emotionally and spiritually. I am most proud of my ability to see light in every situation. I don’t make excuses, I make changes until it’s done.
What was your favorite childhood memory?
You know what is so crazy! No one has never asked me that. That question alone takes me back to Vanessa in the 5th grade. My favorite childhood memory involved me doing what I love to do the most. In 5th grade, I attended Lake Forest Elementary. I remember I had a close friend. She used to come to school with open wounds, and I used to find her in the bathroom crying during P.E. Everyone used to make fun of her without knowing her, so I spoke to her. She was going through abuse in her household both physically and sexually, her mother did not believe her and she was not allowed to contact her father. I remember like it was yesterday, I was actually a safety patrol at the time so I took that as a privilege to bring this information to our schools’ officer. In the end, she ended up living with her grandma and she is so successful right now. All I can say is till this day she thanks me and that’s one experience I hold close to my heart, the fact that I understood her circumstance and wanted to help at such a young age. I could’ve sat there and judged with the rest but I didn’t, I choose to make a difference instead.
