Life & Work with Emilio Uribe

Today we’d like to introduce you to Emilio Uribe.

Hi Emilio, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started after 911 in New York City. My first clients were Alicia Keys, Paul McCartney, Black Eye Peas and Fergie. I could tell you it’s was much I was supposed to be the assistant to Dionne Pentikules, she got into a car accident the night before the first concert, and asked me to take her place, so I did, I’ve touched the hottest a listers in Hollywood, then I stared doing full and being personal to Kelly Lynch, Anjelica Huston, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Danny Huston, Olga Kurylenko, etc.

Life has giving me the opportunity to work in what I am most passionate about, I did have a dark moment in my life when I was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2014 but am a survivor, I lost it all but God or whoever guide me, had great things for me after the chemotherapy.

I had ballers for HBO Empire and the Netflix series Luis Miguel which got me back on my feet and recently relaunched my hair care line “Ube Beauty” brand that was established in 2008, becoming an instant hit, not only in show business but also in the mainstream market. I feel so blessed.

I have been working in the Hispanic and Anglo markets. Artists such as Shakira, Beyonce, Alicia Keys, Charlize Theron, Anne Hathaway, Johnny Depp, Scarlett Johansson, Gloria Estefan, Eva Longoria, to name a few. I had been style director for editorials and magazines such as Vogue, Elle, Maxim, InStyle and People en Español and Playboy Magazine.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the  biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Cancer was my biggest struggle.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am an image creator, hair designer.

My work defines my name and my prestige.

Word of mouth has bring me to where I am today.

Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
Music is my biggest passion. I do read but I read books about kabbalah and Buddhism
