Today we’d like to introduce you to Simone Elderot.
Hi Simone, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I moved from Stockholm, Sweden to pursue a career in the Real Estate industry, I realized I always tended to help clients stage their homes or make it ready for photos and showings. When I later moved along to managing a small New York Real Estate startup, I always found myself having the most fun when we got new buildings and I could design and decorate layouts, pick out colors and furniture. It was such a small part of my actual work, decorating and designing, but I really found my bliss there.
After my 5+ years in the Real Estate Industry, I felt it was time to put my creative mind into real work and founded Stockhomed, a client-based spruce up service, where Stockhomed makes homes “Homed”, a meaning that stems from “returning to the natural habitat”, and that’s the feeling Stockhomed leaves their clients with today.
I visualize spaces after the client’s needs and wants. All the way from start to execution, I know how to make a relocating process easy and beautiful.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
A challenge I am sometimes faced with is to get people to understand I am working for them, not for a designer or a store where I get the best percentage on furniture, as many people in my field do. I usually have to tell my new clients who look at my portfolio and say to me “I don’t want it like this” or “I don’t like it like that” I always come back to them and say “good, I offer client-based interior decoration and design, I’m not trying to make all homes look the same, all homes are unique and personal”.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Stockhomed offers a spruce-up service, this can be done for a permanent refreshment of a home or something more short-term like a holiday decoration. Stockhomed’s model is developed for clients, its client-based interior design, clients are able to follow the process all the way and be able to pick out likes and dislikes, alongside being as little bothered as possible – Stockhomed will make it a seamless and stress-free process.
Stockhomeds founder is a world traveler with an intimate familiarity with the struggles of relocating to a new city, country, or even continent, sensitive to the concerns of clients, sympathizes with the fears of leaving a loving home, Stockhomed works closely with clients to keep them motivated about the next chapters in their life.
Stockhomed specializes in incorporating plants in the interior decoration projects, making the plants a part of the furniture. The decorating specialties come from the founders frequently traveling, and the colors, motifs, patterns, and textures influence all Stockhomed design and create.
Stockhomeds extensive international clientele makes Stockhomed the leading global interior decorator in the market, and the incorporation with Scandinavian decoration is highly appreciated by the clients. Hence the word “stock” is short for Stockholm since it is the capital of Scandinavia, and Homed is defined as to have returned to a natural habitat. Homed could also mean – to go or return home – and this is the feeling I want to leave with my clients.
Stockhomed just finished “The Miami Project” where they offered an all-inclusive concierge service that included everything from start to finish, a relocation expert helping the client in the most stressful parts of moving from one city to another. The next project for Simone and Stockhomed is a gorgeous artist duplex in Miami Beach , where followers will be able to follow the entire process on social media.
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
The ability to form an opinion and make a decision, alongside the ability to lead, whatever it is to lead a project or people.
