Today we’d like to introduce you to Christine Seibold.
Hi Christine, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I am an Author and Virtual Freedom Strategist based in Miami Beach. Tired of the 9 to 5 and not at all feeling alive. It sounds so cliché, but I knew there had to be more for me to do out there. This described me and what my life had become at the end of 2017. I had had enough of the Boston winters, the corporate office politics and limited vacation, so I decided to move to a warmer climate and start my own virtual business, Freelance N’ Freedom.
After completing my Masters at Harvard University in 2018, I did some research and discovered that many people were living off of virtual businesses, like bloggers, coaches, virtual assistants, social media managers, writers, brand strategists, etc. I decided that I wanted the freedom to work from anywhere that had wifi and the flexibility to make my own schedule and travel to new places. I decided to make living a freedom lifestyle my priority.
I started out my entrepreneur journey working as a Virtual Assistant, specializing in social media management and leading administrative projects for other business owners in the health and wellness industry. About six months into my journey, I became certified as a life/business coach. I wanted to help women get ahead and succeed as business owners doing work that they loved. Now I coach women on how to leave their 9 to 5 jobs to start their own virtual businesses through an 8-week program that I designed.
Since becoming an entrepreneur, I have spoken at many business conferences, workshops, and events. I have shared my experience and have spoken both locally and internationally on topics such as How to be a successful entrepreneur, How to live a life of freedom while working virtually, How to get unstuck in business, and How to set healthy boundaries in work and in life. In September of 2021, I published my first book called Blondie Without Borders in September to celebrate three years in business.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road to becoming an entrepreneur has not been smooth. First, I dealt with loneliness when I moved from Boston to Miami because I did not know anyone. My biggest struggle and lesson learned has been setting boundaries and limits as a business owner. This includes setting a work schedule for myself so I am not working 24/7, learning how to use a google calendar as my Bible, and setting healthy limits with clients and leaving ones that no longer serve me.
As you know, we’re big fans of Freelance N’ Freedom. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
As a certified life coach and business coach, my main goal is to help women follow their passion and lead them through the process of how to start a successful business so that they can travel the world, have a flexible schedule, spend more time with family and live the freedom lifestyle that they dream of. I help women who feel stuck in their corporate jobs to create a virtual business of their own.
In addition to the Virtual Freedom Program, I have a boundary-setting program. I have found that oftentimes as women, we tend to put others’ needs before our own.
The biggest thing that I am proud of is publishing my book this year. Blondie Without Borders is a memoir and my why for writing the book is to share my message and life lessons about the importance of boundaries and what happens when there are none. I talk about difficult situations in my life that I fought through and overcame to show women that no matter what they face, they can always move forward and have a little bit of hope. At the end of the book, I share my method of how to set healthy boundaries and also provide some space for journaling and self-reflection.
I want women to know that they are enough just the way they are and that it is ok to set boundaries in relationships, with work, with self-care, with money, with food, with alcohol, or whatever else may cross their path.
How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
I am happy to speak at any local events. You can share my links and the link to my book as well.
