Hi Sophia, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Growing up in Miami, as someone who takes her wardrobe seriously. I was always on the search for fashion forward swimwear that hugged my curves. I soon came to the realization that the only way to find what I was looking for was if I designed swimwear myself. In 2019, I set out on a journey to do just that. I knew I my team & company had to be built off a foundation that was focused on making women feel their absolute best. And having a 100% female team was the only way to achieve my goal.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Starting a company is never an easy task, although it is always worth it! Like anything in life, the best situations never come free. One of the hardest challenges was manufacturing the pieces in an ethical & timely manner. I overcame this by bringing the factory in house & controlling the brand from A to Z.
As you know, we’re big fans of Heart of Sun. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
I am focused on designing pieces that are not only unique but are tailor fitted for all body types. Our designs are sustainably made with your curves in mind by our female team.
