Conversations with Adriana Catano

Today we’d like to introduce you to Adriana Catano.

Hi Adriana, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I began doing TV commercials and modeling for print work my senior year in high school. Soon after that I began taking acting, voice over and tv hosting classes. Long story short, I went on to work as an actress and tv host for over two decades on Spanish language television. I even filmed a telenovela for TV Azteca in Mexico. In 2018, I decided to launch my own vegan, skin care brand and that is how Catano Beauty (Catano by Aniise) was created.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Along the way, there were many struggles because when you are an independent company without millions of dollars for marketing a brand, it is highly competitive. Luckily one year after Launching Catano Beauty (Catano by Aniise) I began to see a profit. Women all over the United States and Puerto Rico kept on re ordering several of my products and it has really been successful ever since. I think the main reason for my skincare brand’s success is the natural and potent ingredients we use in every product. In addition, the products are made in the USA and are cruelty free, paraben free, alcohol free, fragrance free and glycolic acid free. We mainly use essential plants and oils beneficial to all types of skin and all ages.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I starred in over 2,000 tv commercials throughout my career, 8 telenovelas and some supporting roles in films here and there. I recently became an entepreneur with my skincare and it was the perfect timing. Due to covid many productions were paused and honestly I love being my own boss and not depending on casting directors, directors and/or productions to take place. I would say most Miami natives remember me as the spokesperson for Rooms To Go. I was the spokesperson for 22 years. I am most proud of my role as a mother and of my daughter. Honestly motherhood has been my most important job ever and I would not change it for the world.

We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
Most people don’t know I have a passion for reading and for animals. They may also be surprised that I became a vegan in 2018 and it was very important to me to launch a vegan skin care line where no animals were harmed. I also love to eat hahaha! Most people don’t know I was obese at the age of 15 and lost over 45 lbs by the time I graduated. Most people don’t know I juggle many hats. I am the beauty editor for Eventos Magazine and I’m also the owner of Somos La Revista Magazine, online digital and printed publication.
