Today we’d like to introduce you to Rosella Papale.
Hi Rosella, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Well, my story has been like a roller coaster.
I came to the United States from Venezuela almost 7 years ago, changed my career, and opened a business. Through this business, I learned a lot about signs, printing, and graphics. This business also sparked my interest in learning about business and marketing because I knew about medicine but not about business. ( I am formally trained as a Medical Doctor with a specialization in Anesthesiology).
So, while learning -on the go- the daily operations of a business, customer service, and other fun stuff, I went back to school and got an MBA with a specialization in Marketing Management.
There was a point where I started noticing my clients’ struggles regarding their brands and visual identities. They had great designs. Still, they were not functional, and also they had difficulties telling their message.
All that inspired me to start working on learning all I could about branding and using it for the benefit of those clients. At some point, I wanted to share that not just with my clients but with everybody else, so I created a website and a new IG account just for fun and to build my personal brand as an expert in these two important disciplines.
Surprisingly, after 4 years, I had to close my first business in August 2019, and that thing I was doing for fun just became my second business. This is how RP Branding Studio was officially born. I decided to become a BRANDKETING (Branding + Marketing) Strategist and help people stand out from the crowd using customized brandketing strategies.
This transition started just right before the pandemic. Thanks to the technology we have available, I was able to keep working and growing the business. I was able to keep networking activities with the Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce and other organizations to spread the word about RP Branding Studio.
As you can see, there have been ups and downs, but I’ll keep moving forward. I have an amazing group of friends that support me and cheer for me.
I just see growth and success in the future for RP Branding Studio, my clients, and me.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Smooth? Not at all!
My first obstacle/challenge was not knowing the new industry I was getting into. I didn’t know anything about running a business, employees, taxes, insurances, graphic design, installation… I mean, I DID NOT KNOW ANYTHING, but I am a fast learner, and it was a matter of time to feel like fish in water. I’m still learning, though.
Through those years, all the things I learned have given me a different vision for my business and what I want to accomplish. Things you will only learn from “failure”.
Another challenge was, I had to learn to deal with “failure,” which wasn’t easy because, as an MD. you are not really allowed to fail because a patient’s life depends on you.
If I’m not mistaken, Errol Gerson said that FAIL is the “First Attempt In Learning,” so failure is just the process of learning things when we try them the first time. This helped me shift my mind and feel that I was learning something important I will need for my future.
I had struggles finding the right employees, the right accountant, the right lawyer, vendors, etc., and it turns out that you will work with someone, and as you get to know them, you’ll figure out if it is the right fit for you or not.
My key lesson learned is that I have to be patient, organized, be open to any outcomes, even the unexpected ones, and be ready to find solutions.
Obstacles and challenges will always be part of the journey. You have to decide how to see them and have the best approach. If something has a solution, don’t worry; and if it doesn’t have one, don’t worry either.
As Gary V would say, it’s more important the journey than the destination. Love the process, not the results.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
I’ve always been a creative person, and having a business whose main characteristic is creativity makes total sense. At the same time, I found that my purpose is to help people, and I’ve been doing that in different ways. So with this business, I help them achieve their goals for their businesses and be successful.
At RP Branding Studio, we help our clients stand out from the crowd using customized Brandketing Strategies in English and Spanish.
We have been working with entrepreneurs, small businesses, nonprofit organizations, and healthcare (medical doctors), but we are open to help anyone that needs us.
We specialize in bringing brands to life, but we also have expertise in social media management, email marketing, graphic design, digital marketing, digital advertising, web design, content creation, and much more.
There is not a strategy that fits all. What sets us apart is that we take the time to know our clients and understand their needs in order to find the right solutions to help them reach their goals. We work with them, not for them; they are an important part of our team. We strive for quality over quantity. We’ll be there for them all the time, making the creative process smooth, stress-free, and fun!
We create unique brands and teach our clients the best practices to keep their brands’ integrity and consistency so that they can connect with their ideal clients, reach brand awareness and recognition anywhere.
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
Personally, good work ethic, organization, and ask for help (that I learned through Med. School). Empathy, creativity, and problem-solving are qualities that came with me since I was born and are very helpful.
I learned to be patient, be optimistic, and practice gratitude every day.
A good friend of mine told me I am tenacious, so I think this is an important one that keeps me successfully moving forward.
At the same time, the quality of understanding when I need time to disconnect and recharge to be my best self for my clients and me. The creative process sometimes is overwhelming, and you may find a blockage from time to time, so disconnecting is a good strategy,
Success has a different meaning for every person, for me feeling happy about what I do and the difference that can make in others’ lives is part of my definition, among many other things.
