Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Jessica Hudson.
Dr. Jessica Hudson, born in Miami, Florida. Dr. Hudson was an educator in the public school system for over 12 years before becoming full-time with her Company.
Watching them struggle and pain in her community growing up, Dr. Hudson had that yearning to make a difference. First, she was self-motivated to complete her education. After graduating from Miami Carol City Senior High School, she enrolled in Florida Atlantic University, where she obtained a B.A. in Sociology. She went on to receive an M.S. in Exceptional Student Education and an ED.D in Higher Educational Leadership/minor in Human Administration.
In order to give back to the community, Dr. Hudson became a member of the N.A.A.C.P. A silent force to be reckoned with, she started the Dela Academy © three years ago.
She is also the owner of Hands-on Development©. The company is a program that works with people with disabilities. She also housed families and single women in her home that became homeless and helped them get back on their feet, then birthed, Connections Divine© is a mentoring and financial education program designed to help find funds for college and how to prepare a budget. Preparing High School Minority Students to Become College/Career Ready within the Urban Community is her first novel case study.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No, it definitely has not been a smooth road. The hardest part would definitely have to be believing in yourself, not shortchanging yourself. I had to grow to realize if I don’t value myself, how can I expect others to see my value. I still struggle with this but with the help of my team, I get better and better every day. That is another thing finding a group of individuals that want to grow was a challenge. Not only them helping me with my endeavors but also me pouring myself and resources into their businesses. I do not want to be the only one at the top, I want everyone close to me right there with me!

My main goal is for my clients to be in a position to succeed in their businesses. I am considered a well of knowledge and people come to me, book their consultation and by the end of it, we have a game plan on what the next steps are and how I can help get them to where they want to be.

I started Just Divine University because I wanted to take a load of the average person wanting to start their business but they can not really find the time because they are still working for an employer or just life in general.
