Hidden Gems: Meet Nikki Levy of Nikki Levy Interiors

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nikki Levy.

Nikki, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I grew up in South Africa, and I come from a family of contractors and a mother who built and designed in excess of 10 homes as I grew up. When other kids played with dolls, I rearranged my bedroom and often my mothers home furnishings for fun

When I got my own home, after getting married, people asked me to help them with their own homes. It snowballed from there and I began a business in SA.

I moved to Boca in 2010 with my husband and 3 small kids, who were 6,4 and 7 weeks old.

I began my business much the same way as I had In South Africa, with people seeing my homes and asking me to help with theirs

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
There are always obstacles, starting off solo, working from home and after a while growing from just me to 7 designers, an finance person and client services. We are now a team of 10.

The growth was an interesting ride, with trying to scale without loosing our unique creativity and boutique vibe. It was difficult to navigate the balance of delegation and keeping a tight hold of the NLI aesthetic.

We have had to learn as we go and are finding a good balance between growth and maintaining our boutique brand.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Nikki Levy Interiors?
We specifically focus on high end residential design. We try never to repeat a design of piece of furniture. We are technically advanced, using 3D renderings as part of our design package so our clients can see thier designs before committing.
We are unique and creative and have 100% dedication to making our clients dreams come true.
We have a large catalog of vendors, and use them to weave the designs of the home, but we also custom design furnishings, lights, millwork, draperies, and anything else we can sprinkle our creativity overs.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
We want to continue to refine our craft, never loosing our sense of artistic pride on our projects. We want to remain a smaller firm, focusing on our individual clients wants ans needs, after all we are doing this for them.

We will continue to focus on using technology to our advantage, while never forgetting that this is an industry that is all about the senses. Seeing, touching and feeling can never be replaced. Shape, color and texture will always be in our arsenal and comfort and practicality is vital for happy homes.
