Today we’d like to introduce you to Maria Gomez.
Hi Maria, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I’ve always had a love for food and making it look beautiful! When I graduated from high school I decided to go study hospitality. I completed my B.S in FIU at the Chaplin School of Hospitality and tourism management. I made so many great connection with peers in my field, and my love for food styling continued to grow. I’ve always been a fan of snack boards and growing up my family and I have made them for our intimate gatherings. Until 2019 when I decided to start making it for the public as MAG Spread. I wanted MAG Spread to be a community driven brand. A spread of food that people would gather around, because that was how the inspiration struck to begin with. I started making a couple of sales to friends and family and slowly my Instagram following started to grow. Then strangers started to reach out, asking for my spreads. Today MAG spread continues to be my passion project and now my full time job.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
With every business venture or project there will always be bumps on the road. Thankfully we’ve gotten over them all and have learned valuable lessons from each. The last year was definitely challenging but we are so grateful for all the clients that have supported us through these times.
We’ve been impressed with MAG Spread, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We are a grazing business that specializes in beautifully curated cheese boards and tables. Using quality locally sourced foods to create our spreads. Our tables really sets up apart because of the food styling techniques implemented and the attention to detail in each spread. We are proud to service our clients with a board full of yummy food but also poured with love and beautiful moments. We treat our boards and tables like a blank canvas were we create our art with food. Clients can always expect to have their cheese needs met. Our goal as a company is to create a beautiful moment for each of our clients where they can gather around the spread and share moments with their friends and family.
What matters most to you?
The quality of product we deliver. We want each client to feel like they have ordered the best board or table in our city.
