Daily Inspiration: Meet Sarah Grant

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sarah Grant.

Hi Sarah, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I had an adventurous childhood, being born in Calgary, Canada, and raised in Hong Kong and London. I had the opportunity to travel to some of the most beautiful places on earth. I was full of energy and had a joyful spirit. We moved overseas when I was only two months old because of my dad’s work in the finance industry.

I remember being a very stable, healthy, and happy young girl. But then everything changed on New Year’s Eve in 1993. My oldest brother, Jody—my hero and my favorite person in the world—died tragically at the young age of 18. My 10-year-old life crumbled before my eyes. My family was barely holding it together and everything I knew turned into chaos.

I was so heartbroken, scared, and didn’t want to live with this pain. I started to sabotage my health, my happiness, my entire life. I was so young and I turned the pain into hating myself and in the long run, it showed up in every area of my life.

I turned to food for comfort and to numb the pain. I was eating through my emotional pain for years, and soon I was overweight, which led me to criticize myself and hating my body. Drugs and alcohol became my next vice to escape my pain. I would party all night and lose more and more of myself. I was not the person I wanted to be. I was depressed, broken and I needed a way out of my misery.

I was always looking outside myself for happiness. From the money, I made to my career success, my relationships, my body—everything. I was constantly searching for the next best thing, never content with where I was at that moment. I put so much pressure on myself that I never felt good enough. My limiting belief of not being “good enough” was showing up in every area of my life.

I was stressed out, in a horrible self-defeating romantic relationship and I was living in a constant state of stress. Things just kept getting worse. The elevated levels of stress caused me to break out in painful cystic acne covering my face. I was so ashamed of myself that I couldn’t even look at myself in the mirror. I was living in a self-imposed hell.

I knew I had to make a change, and it had to start with a shift in my internal state. By embracing my darkness as well as my sabotaging behavior, I slowly changed my life. I was finished with not feeling good enough, stressed out, and exhausted. I was ready to experience a higher standard of life.

It started with my body. But the amazing thing is that my journey took me way beyond the exterior. The more I focused on shifting my internal state to peace and acceptance and rectifying the inner struggles from my past, the more I began to understand exactly what I wanted for my life. Loving myself was no longer an option; it was mandatory.

I forgave myself—which was difficult at first—but to my amazement, it flooded me with relief. I stopped suppressing all my feelings of grief, anger, fear, and pain and started to feel and release them in healing ways. The more I felt and released the more my addictions to alcohol, drugs, food, and shopping went away.

As I started to trust the universe and know in my heart that everything is working out the best for me, fear no longer controlled my life and I began to feel safe in this world. I met the man of my dreams, my soul mate, and his amazing love and energy supported me on my life-long quest to live my life from the inside out.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The biggest challenge was believing in myself to quit my 9-5 job in the medical industry and pursue my passion for writing books and coaching clients on self-mastery. I had a lot of healing to do from my childhood and it was a hard journey but it has all been worth it.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
As a self-mastery coach, I work with clients to master the areas of their lives that are out of balance, not fulfilling, or are struggling with. Helping them in the areas of weight loss, relationships, money, self-love, mindset, and soul connection. It’s so rewarding to see my clients transform their lives and it’s why I am so passionate about what I do.

I am the author of two self-improvement books, Soul Beauty and The Universe Loves You. Both books are available on Amazon in both kindle and print format. Soul Beauty is also available on audible.

My first book, Soul Beauty helps readers connect with the true essence of your being, move from a place of judgment and separation to one of love and connectedness, discover your divine creativity, wholeness, total well-being, and fulfillment, live with more passion, purpose, and freedom, be your authentic self and shine your light everywhere you go and feel confident to follow your dreams.

Our souls are the light within, guiding us to embody our divine nature, helping us to grow, evolve, and live through our hearts.

Soul Beauty empowers you to live a soul-centered life and discover an infinite joy that lies within you. If you want to experience what you long for – a life of love, abundance, bliss, and beauty – the journey begins with enriching your inner life. Create a profoundly rich inner life, and you will experience an outer life that reflects that back to you. This way of being is less about striving and pushing and more about ease and flow.

My second book, The Universe Loves You gives you the tools to totally transform your paradigm when it comes to choosing the life you want to live while having the confidence to follow your heart and tapping into the unlimited happiness that lies within you. This book invites you to feel so loved and supported by the universe that you are freed from any limitations that have held you back from living your best life.

I also offer guided meditations and affirmations on my website and on iTunes and Spotify. Listen to these tracks to change your mindset and live with more gratitude, abundance, and connection.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I don’t believe in good or bad luck. It really comes down to mindset and that has propelled me to living the life of my dreams. Mastering yourself in all areas of your life determines your success, happiness, and fulfillment. Working on yourself is a daily commitment but I love the breakthroughs and the person I have come through all the adversity I have faced.
