Today we’d like to introduce you to Jamie and Jessie Zano.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My brother Jessie and I always had an entrepreneurial mindset! From selling candy in Middle School to going door to door cleaning headlights in High School and even having our own online textbook website in College. We always had a dream of starting our own business together. Growing up, we came from a family of gamers. We would always have game nights and play all different types of games for hours on end.
Fast forward to the summer of 2017, Jessie called me after playing some games with his friends and said, “Honestly, these games are all the same; I feel like we can create a game that can be different from the others out in the market. We love playing games; so we figured why not make our own?”
At that moment, we set out a goal for us to create our own game that people would enjoy playing with their friends. We decided to create a game catered towards the college market. Being around that age range, we thought we could relate better. Soon after, Vote or Dare was born!
We worked day and night, brainstorming, designing, and thinking of hundreds of content cards. Once we had everything in place, we tested our game until we perfected the concept. Throughout this time, we were able to create expansion packs for the Vote or Dare game, along with three other party games that are in the making!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Since this was our first game we were creating, we both knew it would come with many challenges along the way. We spent endless nights coming up with content for the game. We came up with hundreds of different cards but one of the hardest challenges was picking the right content for the actual game. We had to go over all 200 cards multiple times, making sure all were grammatically correct. Even after looking at the same cards over 100 times, you’d be surprised how many errors you can find.
The look and size of the box was very important to us. Another obstacle we faced was designing the box with the right amount of graphics and colors that were appealing enough to the eye and to make sure that the box had that snug fit.
Overall, there were many challenges along the way, more than we can even mention throughout the whole process of creating a party game. Even with all this hard work we put in, we definitely had a blast making Vote or Dare and we hope you do the same when playing it!

Our company is Vote or Dare, LLC. We have a passion for making awesome party games for any occasion. We named our company after our flagship product, Vote or Dare. We have other party games in our portfolio that we are releasing soon and we plan on creating a lot more games in the future for people to play on any game nights with their friends. What sets our brand apart is that we know the exact components of making an interactive party game that keeps people engaged the whole time playing.
What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
Since 2012, the NSFW party game industry has grown over 40 percent. We believe that party games are always going to have a demand and that they are always going to be played in various social gatherings such as pre-games, parties, bachelorette/bachelor parties and birthdays. With technology rapidly growing and people constantly using their phones, we are also in the works of creating phone applications for our games that you can play on the go!
As we focus on brand awareness, in the near future we plan on expanding into big retailers across the nation. We only see the party game industry booming in the next years to come!
