Hi A’daja, thank you so much for sitting down with us again. For folks who might have missed our initial interview, can you start by briefly introducing yourself?
I am a young black female photographer
Why the name AWshotme ?
The name is very simple yet clever, my full name is A’daja White. Being a photographer everybody is always referring to me as “Shooter”
Can you share some details about the studio (AWshotme Studios) with our readers?
“Safe place” AWShotme Studios is a space you come to feel comfortable and sexy. It’s a doll house I like to call it, we have pink walls, LV baby blue wall, Grass wall and all types of body empowerment encouragement around the space. Mirrors of all sizes, backdrops, props and the music is between 90s-2000s R&B and summer walker with a mix of the newest hip hop songs. A lot of people say “it’s a vibe”! The MUA in the studio offers amazing services along side an talented lash tech on site.
How did your business survive the impacts of covid 19?
Praying, sanitation and taking all the proper steps to remain safe. We sterilized, mask / temp required and tested weekly.
What makes AWshotme different from other photographers?
I am a black woman! My energy , reassurance and patience is all you need. I offer affordable prices, I value all my clients! Some people do it for the money, I’m very passionate about my craft and I have an amazing editor partner who is very patient / talented (ig @2turntedits / @jesse2turnt). I also have a MUA in the studio (@_makeupbybia)
For folks who might not know and might have wondered in the past – can you enlighten us on what the difference is between a professional photographer’s photos and those taken on a mobile device like an iPhone, Android, etc?
The new technology on cellular devices is amazing! At this point, only the trained eye can tell the difference between a DSLR camera and the iPhone. With apps and upgraded phones anyone can now create stunning images but I like to think I was inspired to become a photographer to create bigger stories and capture memories that evoke emotion. The control over the whole creative process with professional shoots is more organized and guaranteed great quality with retouching.
