Today we’d like to introduce you to Elesia Durham.

Hi Elesia, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself
My name is Elesia Simone Durham and I’m from West Palm Beach, Florida. I lost my mother in 2017 from a bad car accident… I never got over it. I came down real sick because I had a slight tear in my esophagus that caused my air way to close up. I was not expected to make it… I had a breathing tube in my neck and feeding tube in my stomach… I had to learn how to eat again… to occupy my mind; in April 2020, I started doing TikTok videos to pass time.

I started reenacting movies/shows… whatever my supporters requested, I pretty much did… I blew up doing baby boy reenactments. According to my supporters, I look like Taraji P Henson. Got even bigger from my videos doing not just baby boy but players club, Empire, Hustle & Flow, Why did I get married, Poetic Justice etc. Taraji P Henson shared four of my videos in her IG story. It was amazing. Then I later lost my big brother Terell Durham to a heart attack and two months later lost my 2nd oldest brother Rubin Shaw to health problems also… I continued to do my videos to stay sane… ended up on the shade room April 2021. The Source and World star have a few opportunities as far as acting goes.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It was not smooth… I deal with my scars daily and the disrespect from others. Dealing with the lost of my mother and two siblings was definitely hard.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a security officer.

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
I see myself in movies next.
