Hi Roberta, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I was born in Rio de Janeiro, so I’ve always been drawn to natural beauty, simplicity and a tropical lifestyle. I started my career designing swimwear, dipped my feet in personal styling as well, but my passion has always been for flowy, easy-to-wear clothing, especially dresses. Moving to Miami, where I could wear a dress all year around, made my love grow even bigger.
In 2019, My Happy Cabaña was started with this exact intent in mind; Easy and beautiful dresses that will transport you on a joyful and colorful journey, a happy place. The brand embodies a carefree, fun and timeless feel. Our prints paired with non-complicated silhouettes is what sets us apart. Styles that can be paired with flip flops to heels, from the beaches of Rio to the Piazza del Duomo in Milan.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
My Happy Cabaña was started in November 2019… right before a global pandemic! When Claudia, my business partner, and I started, we were mostly hosting pop-up events, trunk shows and getting our brand name out there, so having to cancel all the planned events for 2020 and pivoting to online only had its challenges.
As a new brand, we didn’t have much traffic on our website in the beginning. We had to quickly learn the ins and outs of social media, which posts got more engagement and followers, which Facebook ads got better rated, therefore, more target range etc… We had to dive head in and we learned a lot in the process. Now that things are finally opening up and people are starting to emerge from their homes, we’ve started hosting events again and I cannot express how wonderful it is to see our clients face to face!!

My Happy Cabaña is a lifestyle brand that embodies an effortlessly chic, fun and timeless feel. We curate one-of-a-kind treasures from around the world, such as handmade Turkish jewelry and beautiful leather bags from Colombia. We design clothes that can transport you to a happy place and bring color and joy into your life. We are known for our easy-to-wear silk blend dresses which are perfect for Miami weather and traveling because they do not wrinkle!
I believe that what sets us apart from other brands is our authenticity, we maintain true to our core values and we believe that our clients will feel joy and confidence wearing our pieces.
What matters most to you?
What matters most to me is authenticity and remaining true to our brand identity. My Happy Cabaña is all about humor and joy and taking a not-so-serious approach to fashion. We strive to design and curate items that will transcend trends and seasonalities. Items that our clients will treasure for a long time and not throw away after just one season.
