Hi Nicole, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
What inspired me to launch my online boutique was my deep admiration for fashion and to inspire woman to feel liberated through clothing styles that captivates her natural beauty but also enhances her confidence. As a teenager, I had low self-esteem and consistently tried to fit a beauty standard and narrative that wasn’t true to who I was as a young woman. It was not until adulthood, I took a journey of self-discovery and realized that I define my own concept of beauty through not only my appearance but everything about my femininity. I established my online boutique to cater in providing the latest trendy fashions and accessories for women through bold, chic, or flirty apparel that compliments every woman’s unique style.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Entrepreneurship is challenging but yields great rewards if you are determined and consistent with ensuring the success of your business. Personally, the challenges I’ve encountered is time management. I launched my online boutique while working a full-time job, enrolled in graduate school part-time, attending seminars for induction into a national club organization, and fulfilling my family obligations as a single mother. There were days I was exhausted but I was determined to build a legacy for myself and children which no one had accomplished in my family. I also encountered challenges with seeking financial assistance to fund my business and knowing the types of loans and grants that were available. I immediately invested in a consultant program to provide guidance and to assist with another challenge which had been marketing strategies for advertising my products.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
I love the diversity of the city as you get to experience the many cultures, cuisines, art, and entertainment that it offers. However, I strongly dislike the crime-stricken areas which sometimes has the richest history and culture.
