Community Highlights: Meet Cory Finot of Café Crème

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cory Finot.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I came to Miami in my early 20’s in 1999. After graduating from culinary school in France, I worked in Michelin star restaurant and then I decided to move to Miami. I worked for six years for my mentor Tony Goldman at Wish restaurant as a manager. In 2010 with my good friend Chef Claude Postel we opened Buena Vista Deli then we opened Café Crème in 2016.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The restaurant business is about hard work and consistency. To get where we are today, we had to work extremely hard and sacrifice a lot of our personal life to run those businesses to success. Working in the hospitality industry is a real passion of Mine. We get to meet amazing people It is very rewarding to be surrounded by amazing people but it takes a lot on my personal life.
