Thanks for sharing your story with us Dr. Perez. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I’m an internal medicine physician. I’ve been practicing hospital medicine for about 10 years. I also practice medical aesthetics for the last five years. I previously owned a concierge aesthetic company. I would see my clients in the privacy of their home. As my schedule changed I was unable to continue with this model of practice. I eventually decided to take a leap of faith and open my own medical spa and wellness center. I’ve been planning along with multiple advisors since September of last year. I finally open the doors of Wellsthetics on July 18of this year. It’s been an interesting journey.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t been a smooth road but it certainly has been an interesting and rewarding one. There have been many challenges along the way, for example hiring the right staff, finding the capital that you need to operate, finding and getting all the permits and certificates. Certainly the administrative part of the business for me it’s the most challenging, as I imagine it is for most entrepreneurs that have no background in business. However, I have been blessed with a lot of advisors, paid and not paid, that are looking after my best interest, are honest and truthful.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Wellsthetics Health and Beauty – what should we know?

Wellsthetics is not just another Medical Spa, it is also a Wellness Center with a very intimate fitness studio located in the heart of Miami. Four months ago, we opened our doors in the iconic street of Coral Way.
I was inspired to create Wellsthetics by my own desire of having space, a one-stop shop, where all my beauty and health/fitness needs were provided. Wellsthetics offers everything a men or woman may need to age optimally while looking their best. This is how Wellsthetics was the born, and now operates under my full supervision. I’m not only a Board Certified Internal Medicine physician but also a Medical Aesthetics and Injectables Specialist. In Wellsthetics, we offer an extensive service menu.
The Medical Aesthetic division offers everything from traditional facials to the latest aesthetic technology for facial and body rejuvenation and contouring. Our services include Hydrafacial MD, Injectables (Botox, Hyaluronic Acid Dermal fillers, Platelet Rich Plasma, Mesotherapy), Microneedling, Laser Treatments for hair removal, skin rejuvenation and other medical indications.
We have available the latest Radiofrequency technology, BTL VanquishMe, BTL Exilis Ultra and BTL UltraFemme. This state of the art technology provides Body Contouring and fat melting, skin tightening, facial, body and Vaginal Rejuvenation.
Wellsthetics also offers cosmetic services such as 3D Eyebrows (microblading), Lash extensions and Lash Lifts.
Our Wellness division includes primary care medical services, a Medical Weight Loss and Nutritional program, a Fitness Studio, Couples Coaching a Sexual Health Counseling. While primary care is pretty self-explanatory, Sexual Health Counseling services and the Fitness studio, deserve a more in-depth introduction.
Our Sexologist and Couples Coach, Julianna Elizondo, is Clinical Sexologist with a Master Degree in Human Sexuality. She is a sex and intimacy expert and guides couples towards enjoying a healthy and beautiful intimate relationship, where they are free to be themselves without fear, shame, or guilt.
Our Fitness Studio is a very intimate space that can welcome up to 12 clients depending on the class. This private environment promotes a more intimate and personalized service. We offer group and private classes of Pole Dance, Yoga, Functional Training and Electric Whine Fitness Dance.
Our Medical Weight Loss and Lifestyle Nutrition Program consist of a full physical exam and overall health assessment, prescription medication if needed and a personalized nutrition plan, introducing exercise and better nutritional choices for a healthier lifestyle.
Our mission is to promote healthy beauty from head to toe, optimal aging, mental and sexual health, and a healthy joyful lifestyle!
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
I think the most important characteristic that has driven me to build this business is inconformity, being discontent with previous jobs, Curiosity, hunger for a better life, a more fulfilling and rewarding life. Be persistent despite the challenges, being resilient, optimistic, positive and grateful.
