Mia, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My goal has always been to inspire through my journey. Whether it’s life after heartbreak, going back to college, pushing through corporate America, or losing weight I decided to #Shimmer through. Being beautiful for me resonated in the inside as an adolescent and evolved into adulthood. Like many people across the world I gained weight after high school and wanted to get my sexy back. In 2013, I created the self-motivating hashtag #iShimmer. As the weight dropped more friends joined along and #SHIMMERGANG was formed! Being that I began waist training I decided it was only fair that I start my own line of waist training vest for the everyday person get the hour glass frame at an AFFORDABLE cost.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
I wish! It has not been a smooth road whatsoever. Some of the struggles ShimmerGang faced were your typical challenges like start-up financial woes, late shipping, and COVID-19.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
The main part of what I do is inspire. Sounds cliché but it’s honest. I specialize in people, I have over 12 years in hospitality /customer service experience so when each ShimmerBae purchase their experience is personalized just for them. At Shimmergang, tools to assist in weight loss and beauty enhancing, I sell waist trainer vest (ShimmerVest), thigh trainers (Shimmer3N1), fat burning gel (ShimmerGel), breast-lifting tape (ShimmerTape), and butt-lifters (ShimmerLift). I am known for selling the best waist trainer vest in town and “titty” tape. I am most proud of building trust amongst the ShimmerBae and referrals. In addition to the trust, I am proud of building ShimmerGang from the bottom up. What sets me apart from others is the mere fact that my customers can get answers from me. I am ShimmerGANG, meaning I use every product. When you buy something from Amazon you hit place order and that it. ‘When anyone purchase from ShimmerGang they will usually get in contact with me after, and that’s the beauty of it. I am the difference.
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
My favorite childhood memory would be going to the beach with my mom/my siblings & aunt Neki/cousins to Haulover beach and later that night to the drive in theater at the Swap Shop.
