The Oliver Gal Artist Co. began concocting in the minds of sisters Ana Sanchez-Gal and Lola long before it became a reality. As Ana words it: “We like to say it always existed, since our art belongs to all styles and all eras, it is contemporary as it is timeless… scilicet eternal”.
The parent company of Oliver Gal, AllPopArt, a custom art company created by Assi Glikshtein-Gal and Ana Sanchez-Gal, has been in business for 14 years and Oliver Gal is a spin-off line, born in 2012, after the incorporation of Chief Creative Officer Lola and the Gal couple’s vision and inspiration to create a new concept to revolutionize the art world. The idea was to bring haute-art to everyone’s home. Art that evolves in a fashion-like motion, while keeping the highest quality materials and creations, pushing the boundaries of what is possible in the affordable art world.
The collective houses several artists along with the sisters, creating a convergence of different art visions that evolves with each project.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
AllPopArt, parent company of Oliver Gal, started in Ana and Assi’s (Co-CEOs) apartment. This means that Oliver Gal is the true American dream, born from the arduous work of a couple that believed in their dreams and further down the road was able to build a team that alongside them made Oliver Gal what it is today.
As we progress with our abilities as art makers, we are pushing the envelope to bring even more craftsmanship and uniqueness into our art at a lower price point. American-made high-end specialty finishes at import prices are a big focus for us right now.
The Oliver Gal Artist Co. – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
The Oliver Gal Artist Co. is a collective of artists spearheaded by sisters and artists Lola Sánchez & Ana Gal. The duo was inspired by the Miami art scene — and by photography from their travels around the world in Spain, France, Italy, Japan, Israel and Africa. Their art collections are handcrafted with airy images, pop culture themes, and striking layers of color. Each piece — from limited edition series to exclusive collections — is created to capture life’s most haute moments, avant-garde objects and splendid lifestyles. Their work exudes unpretentious elegance, transforming blank walls into grand-scale, high-style canvasses.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
“It might sound cliché to say every moment is special. However, in our case, this is uncommonly true. Every day we find new followers and proud “Oliver Gal Collectors” (this is how we call our artwork owners) and they are proud and happy to share with the world the pieces that they own (e.g.- Instagram, Pinterest, Facebook). It is a project that truly awakens passion in our customers and this makes every piece we make a before-and-after moment in our company and in our lives.”
