Today we’d like to introduce you to Patty Bartoli.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I’m a mother of 3 young children. We have always played mini golf on vacation and noticed as there were no miniature golf courses in this area. We have always loved that mini golf is fun for all ages and everyone can enjoy time outside taking part in an activity that brings people together! A vision of a tropical, adventure golf course near the water with nice music started coming together. We loved the idea of offering ice cream and so 3 Scoops (named after our 3 little guys and our white lab, Scoops) was born!
Our new Burger Shack is an open-air pavilion with 15 flat screen TVs (playing every major sporting event), a bar with a backdrop of a 3500-gallon shark tank and an enclosed & shaded state-of-the-art playground. We have something for EVERYONE! We not only serve premium blend burgers and dogs but much more like our famous quinoa salad, fish wraps, wings and more…
Anything that we can get locally, we do! We love being a part of the community and being a key destination in the area where not only do we have families with small children but drinks on the links for adults, date nights, silly golf nights, corporate events, fundraisers, professional golfers taking a break and having fun….and soo much more!
I am proud to have created a place where people go to relax, have fun and desensitize themselves from our electronic world. My happiest moments are when I look around and see a family with small children bonding on one hole, seniors enjoying a nice night out, a couple on a date on another, a group of teenagers on antoher….and what I don’t see are any cell phones out.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
If you love what you are doing and you are inspired by a vision, the road is always smoother. Of course, starting your own business from scratch is never an easy road. It’s certainly been a huge learning experience and one that makes Lighthouse Cove and The Burger Shack that much more meaningful and the whole experience amazingly rewarding!
Please tell us about Lighthouse Cove Adventure Golf and The Burger Shack.
Lighthouse Cove Adventure Golf is a tropical fishing village-themed miniature golf destination located on A1A and Jupiter Beach Road in Jupiter’s Inlet Village. LHC features two 18-hole courses, Paradise Falls, and Lost Lagoon, boasting dramatic sea life, boats, waterfalls, caves and more. The holes were designed to incorporate Jupiter’s history, and a game of golf educates as well as entertains with signs along the course and descriptions about the local sea life as well as Jupiter’s history!
For mini golfers seeking a respite from the Florida heat, 3 Scoops Ice Cream is the perfect chilly treat, featuring the finest ice cream, handspun milkshakes, frozen drinks and specialty sodas. Carryout service is available for guests on the go.
The Burger Shack is our open-air pavilion with 15 flat screen TVs (offering all major sporting events), a bar with 15 craft beer options and a backdrop of a 3500-gallon shark tank. We have a state of the art playground which is enclosed and shaded to keep our little guests safe! We offer a great menu that includes our premium blend burgers, hot dogs along with salads, fish and more!
We are proud to be involved in our community. We buy locally to support our fellow small business community (Local craft beer, produce, ice cream and more). We host many fundraisers and have partnerships with other local businesses to create a nice community for both our residents and visitors!
We have become a destination in the area and promise to create a wonderful experience for all of our customers in a clean, well run and fun environment!!!
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
It would have to be the days at the beach with my family …. those days never leave your memory. I believe in living in the moment and experiencing happiness as it comes. It’s the moments that you experience love and human connection that you can’t plan for or create that stay in your heart forever. That’s why I love that we’ve created a place where hopefully memories at LHC will be ones that others remember forever! Having fun with loved ones whether they are family, coworkers, a spouse, old friends…
