Meet Shanice Richardson of WhatShanWrote in Fort Lauderdale

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shanice Richardson.

Shanice, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I quit. That’s really how it all started. After graduating college and being in the corporate world for six years, I was exhausted mentally and physically from being in control of by companies that only cared about their bottom dollar. I knew I wanted to write. And as an extremely social person, I knew I wanted to be around like-minded people. I took my fears and aspirations and parked it on Instagram hoping to catapult into success. I failed miserably.

I felt defeated. Unemployed and unable to find a job willing to pay my worth, I gave social media another try. In less than two months, I was able to build a community and reach a five-figure month in sales. The moment I double my weekly pay in one week of working for myself, I knew I had to make this (content marketing and copywriting) work.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It has not been smooth. Trying to build a business and learn how to run a business is no joke. We should definitely be required to take business classes in school. I don’t have much time for anything outside of business, but I’m not complaining. One day, my story will be different, but now, I’m in my building phase.

WhatShanWrote – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I am a content marketer and copywriter. I handle certain marketing aspects for business women so they can stop running around in circles and start running their business. I am BIG on connection and community. Truly getting to know my community who I refer to business sisters and displaying my real personality has set me apart.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Happiness. I want to be happy in what I do. Copywriting. Taking words and using them to influence people makes me happy.
