Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeannie Charles.
Jeannie, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Since I was a child, I’ve always attended family weddings and loved the meaning of LOVE. The moment when two souls decide to join as one. I was always that one guest that would get up out of their seat and assist the event planners if they needed help. I enjoyed helping. I guess it’s the Social Worker in me. Nonetheless, In 2013 I officially started planning small events and weddings and eventually got married to the love of my life. However, my happiness was short-lived and I lost my husband nine months later in a motor vehicle accident one night. The sparkle and light that I once had was filled with depression and years of hopelessness.
As the months and years past me by, I realized that I had to pick myself up by the bootstraps and move forward for my son. I returned to event planning but realized I had found a new passion, which was bridal accessories. Some may say what’s so special about bridal jewelry? I say everything. My role is to enhance a bride’s beauty with our Swarovski crystal that shines so bright you won’t be able to take your eyes off of her. So today I bring you Jewels by Charles.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
One of the struggles I encountered when I started my business was being able to use Instagram to promote by business. I had never really utilized Instagram for that purpose but after a crash course with one of my younger cousins Naomi I was able to use Instagram to promote my business.
Jewels_by_Charles – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Jewels by Charles is an all bridal online boutique that sells and specializes in providing each of our brides with great quality Swarovski crystal headpieces as well as jewelry. As a new company, I am most proud of our great quality, prices and customer service. Our main goal is to provide our clients with a concierge bridal experience. What sets us apart from others is our ability to set up a one on one appointment with our brides where they submit pictures of their dress and even wedding hairstyle in order to match them with the perfect jewelry or headpiece.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
The proudest moment would have to be the amount of support that I have received at this time as well as request for future collaborations with events planners, photographers and makeup artists. I am truly blessed.
