Today we’d like to introduce you to Ayanna Jarido.
Ayanna, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I started my business last year in May. Since high school, I have always had a passion for business management. When I was in high school, I had various side businesses to keep me busy. For a point in time, I was selling customized t-shirts. I also sold customized candy cups. Once I got to college, around my sophomore year, I started brainstorming long term business ideas that I could start that are aligned with my passions. Ultimately, I decided on creating a brand where I can sell merchandise, clothing, accessories and mink lashes. A one-stop-shop!
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It has definitely not been a smooth road. When I started my business, I had the impression that I would immediately get clientele. Any business owner can tell you that that’s not the case. The main thing I will say I have struggled with is consistency! Consistency is extremely key to building clientele. As a college student balancing school, working, running a business and my social life has definitely been challenging and a barrier in remaining consistent.
Please tell us about The Desired Touch.
The Desired Touch LLC is a brand that I created. I sell a variation of merchandise, clothing products and accessories. The Desired Touch LLC was created to provide my clients with products that will make them feel confident and bold. My goal is to create and only output products that are top quality, bold and nothing less than the best and this sets me apart from others. I set high standards for myself and refuse to sell my clients anything that I would not wear or use myself.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
If I had to start over, I honestly would not do anything differently. My journey has been far from perfect but I have learned so much since I’ve started.
