Today we’d like to introduce you to Kendra Davis.
Kendra, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Back in March 2019, I fell in love with watching videos of an influencer on a daily basis by the name of “Ky Lashaii.” She was an upcoming entrepreneur who gave tips on becoming “Your Own Boss Babe.” Throughout her entire channel, she demonstrated “Behind the Scenes” of packaging orders, branding, how to stay motivated, and overall be the best woman you can be as a young entrepreneur. Watching her videos turned into a habit for me; hence this I got so inspired to the point where I wanted to come out with my own lash line called “K Pretty Blinks.”
With research, I found my own vendor, came out with lash names and picked out different styles that I loved the most. The following month, I received my packaging and launched my brand. I received a lot of support from a lot of women I knew throughout Miami. I grew spontaneously in no time and received texts for lash orders more than I expected. I instantly fell in love with how beautiful my clients would feel when they wore lashes from me and decided to expand my brand to more obsessions I knew women would be interested in. I added custom corsets designed exclusively by myself and luxurious hair extensions to my brand.
Has it been a smooth road?
Along this journey, there were challenges I faced, such as a decline in sales and lost of motive. I did not do research for my lash business to expand and gain more recognition it needed so I got lost along the way. I noticed that my branding was not what I aspired it to be and I had little to no marketing skills. I decided to take a break from my business. Over time, I began to do research and learned different tactics to thrive the way I visioned on social media platforms.

Moving forward from my original logo and business name “K Pretty Blinks,” I decided to rebrand to “Kendra’s Collections” and offer more to women. I built my brand with what I loved to wear. I decided to have my brand represent who I was as a person. “Kendra’s Collections” now turned into a one-stop-shop for all my gorgeous “BOLD, BOUGIE, AND UNAPOLOGETIC” women. This is how I described myself and I thought, why not live by my brand and give life into it. Growing up, my mother always did my hair herself in the cutest styles because she went to cosmetology school. I use to get sew-ins all the time, silk-presses with my natural hair, and wear bright hair colors because I always wanted to feel like a brand new person. I was open to trying new colors such as blonde, red, and pink. Since my mother knew how to do everything, getting my hair done came easy and I loved doing it. Ever since then, looking good majority of the time made me feel glorious.
In high school, I also got my hair done often and purchased quality hair extensions from different women in Miami I found on Instagram. Additionally, I was known for the girl who “gets her hair done every two weeks and looks good” all the time. It was not until college I decided to launch my own hairline because I loved it so much it only made sense to market myself. I later found my own bomb vendor and became the go-to for women to purchase hair from. I strongly encourage women to be fearless, be bold and feel untouchable. “Kendra’s Collections” is an online shop whose mission is to encourage women to step out of their comfort zone and indulge in their inner baddie unapologetically. To be a fearless woman who makes her own rules and follows her own mind. Be bold, a risk-taker, and a soul-snatcher. I decided to add custom corsets to my mission to uplift a woman’s overall confidence. My iconic pieces will make any woman feel like she’s at her highest. With this being said, “Kendra’s Collections” mission is what sets us apart from others with so many items to offer. A one-stop-shop that amplifies woman empowerment. I am proud of how fulfilled women become when they shop with me and it fuels me every time.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Miami is full of young women entrepreneurs who are very motivational, uplifting, and helpful if you find the right crowd of women who don’t find you as competition. Surrounding yourself with women who want to see you better yourself, have similar destinations, and share similar character traits will help any women grow as an individual. I recommend starting in Miami because it is a lot of opportunities that can put the fire in your chest to start that business you always dreamed of. A woman who is open to ideas and trying new things will make it far if she surrounds herself with the right women. Stray away from women who are jealous and are not genuine. Sometimes women are just envious of you for how people admire you, your spirit, and how you carry yourself. Your presence can fill the room from a mile away and the person who has jealous for no real reason knows it. It is vital to be resilient, level-headed, and have the perseverance to conquer the world.
