Meet Ronisha Robinson of XtraOrdinary Ladies in Broward County

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ronisha Robinson.

Ronisha, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
XtraOrdinary Ladies is my gift from God birthed from my experiences growing up. It was created to help young women from a myriad of backgrounds celebrate and embrace their God-given beauty and purpose. I have always had a “little meat on my bones” as people like to say, in a society where the media is constantly bombarding us with images that say “thin is in”. Often times, society is focused on the superficial which creates a struggle for everyone who does not resemble a supermodel. I didn’t resemble a supermodel and my weight fluctuated, I received constant criticism from those around who seem to focus on informing me of my need to lose weight. Not only did this cause life long scars, it made it extremely difficult to accept and love myself the way God created me. I thank God His plan for my life and now that I realize and accept His plan, I am a living testimony.

As I began to embark on my career as a young professional, I found myself face to face with other young ladies who were mirror images of myself as a teen. They weren’t all necessarily struggling with weight, but they were struggling to embrace and celebrate themselves. I started reaching out to the girls through my dance team. This inspired me to go further and I started mentoring them directly by building individual relationships with them. It was so rewarding to see the ladies start to grow and flourish and more importantly, love themselves. However, I realized there was a greater need for young ladies in South Florida who struggled with self-acceptance. From this realization came the vision for XOL.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Absolutely not! It was days I wanted to give up but I continue to walk through the process because I understood it was young ladies in Broward County that needed someone in their life like me. I remember going to meetings where only one girl would show up, or I was the only the person that would be there. But it was a couple of things that kept me going and one of those things were “DON’T despise small beginnings” and I didn’t, I kept it going.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with XtraOrdinary Ladies – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
XOL is a mentoring program for young ladies for the ages of 12-18 years old focusing on education, mental health, and must importantly spiritual growth. We are known for our Pink & Pearls Young Ladies Conference that was established in March 2015, in Hollywood, FL. Our conference is geared to ladies 12- up focusing on self love, building relationships with others, and building a relationship with God. We also give out one full makeup over to a deserving young lady and we were also able to start our scholarship fund in 2019.

The things the that I am most proud of is watching young ladies grow from caterpillars to a butterflies, watching young ladies that were suicidal be all that God created them to be and more, watching young ladies go from wanting to drop out of school but going to college and graduating. To watch them succeed in life from all the challenges that was thrown at them make me proud!

What sets me apart from others is my determination to get through the trails that comes with XOL, to help young ladies succeed in life and see them do things that I haven’t done. Oh yeah did I mention I am also a Queen? Yes, that’s right I am a queen. I am Ms.West Park Plus America 2019 and Ms.Supernatural 2019 ( supreme queen). To have my young ladies watch me go through of getting prepared was amazing. They saw the growth that took place and also saw me lose a pageant but come back on top. So once again, that saw a determination to get to where God wanted me.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
It’s a secret but I’ll tell you just a little. I have something that is cooking up for just teenagers and they’ll be able to use this tool to tell all of their secrets instead of social media. I believe they’ll “ THANK “ me for it later. As far as XOL and the Pink & Pearls Young Ladies Conference it will be staying the same but of course we will be going virtual until things get back to normal.
