So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
At a very young age, around 10 or 11 I’ve always wanted to start a business. I remember selling candy when I was in 5th grade, then transitioned over to something that was trending in middle school, which was slime. I wanted to make some extra money, so I decided why not give that a try. I stopped selling and in 7th grade, I was really into fashion and trendy things, so I posted on my Instagram story that I officially wanted to start a business. After doing some research for a year or two, I decided that I want to become my own boss. Neyshaacloset came about. Neyshaacloset, your one-stop shop.
I started off my simply selling shades and anklets. After some months of gaining a following and customers, I knew I had to expand my business and reach a wider audience.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I would say it was a smooth road. At one point, a challenge that I faced was focusing on gaining followers all at once with the mindset of why does my business have less followers compared to others? I had to stop myself and remind myself that I’m not doing this for the followers. I’m doing this because this is something I love doing. I love making people feel good. I then developed a relationship with my audience and communicated with them a lot more. When people hear ‘Neyshaacloset’, I want them to think “Yesss this is my favorite online store! I love shopping here, and I feel so welcomed.”
Neyshaacloset – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Neyshaacloset is not just the closet. It’s the closet and more! From logos to accessories to hair growth products, etc. Neyshaacloset caters to all millennials looking to explore their beauty. What I’m most proud about my company would be how far I’ve gotten without giving up. I’ve overcome challenges that most thought I wouldn’t be able to overcome! What sets my business apart from others would be the connection I have with my customers. I put myself in their shoes when it comes to ordering. I know ordering something is the most exciting thing ever, so when they order, I make sure that it gets packaged on time and dropped off to the post office as soon as possible so they could receive their orders quick! Fast shipping is a priority to me.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
The proudest moment of my career so far, we be meeting my goal of selling 85+ anklets in one week after I had launched some new sets. I knew I could do it, but to actually see it happen, I felt so proud of myself.
