Today we’d like to introduce you to Diane Stone.
Diane, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I wanted to provide women and hair stylists all over the world with luxury, luscious and beautiful hair extensions at affordable prices. I believe that every woman has the right to look and feel beautiful.
By Definition:
• A Goddess: is a female deity. A woman who is adored, especially for her beauty.
• A Dynasty: is a succession of people from the same family who play a prominent role in business, politics, or another field.
These words resonated with me so much, that I decided to name the company Dynasty Goddess Hair Co. Based on the idea of what the words represented to me in relation to my strong connection with both female empowerment and the importance of family. I wanted to provide a coveted, exclusive and high-quality product to women all over the world at a competitive price point. I also wanted to build a successful business that I could one day pass on to my lineage. Our Identity is that we are American Owned and Family Operated.
Over the years I have been committed to the fight against Breast Cancer. With the success of the Dynasty Goddess Hair Co. I have been blessed to donate 15% of all profits and proceeds to the research and development of alternative medicines and cures for Breast Cancer. In support of the fight, I have made it an obligation to dedicate a special space on the Dynasty Goddess website for the breast cancer logo.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Wow….what a question, Well the hair business is very competitive and takes time to get a foothold into.It was extremely rough at first. sourcing hair can be a daunting task. Flying back and forth all over the world to hair markets, of which might I add are in some countries that don’t have a very good infrastructure or hygiene protocols.
After 2 years of searching, I finally gave up and decided to build my own factory, manufacturing everything from scratch. From wefts, tape In’s, clip In’s, hair closures, hair frontal’s, Wigs etc. It was a grueling process and much more then I had anticipated taking on. The average consumer has no idea how much thought and effort goes into a product as simple as a t-shirt. Besides choosing material blends there is the stitching material, what type of stitching to apply, what type of fit will the shirt be, where the tag goes, whats printed on the tag, durability of the product etc…. mind you I’m only talking about a regular white t-shirt…
With a luxury product like virgin hair extensions, there are so many pieces of the puzzle to consider that it can make your head spin…..and my head did spin many days. However, eventually, we pressed through those difficult times and persisted, and look at us now. We sell all over the world. Wholesale, Retail, Online, You name it…I think my last count of Dynasty Goddess Hair Brand Ambassadors was 287 girls. Remember the name of the game is Persistence.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Dynasty Goddess Hair Company – what should we know?
Dynasty Goddess Hair is well known, and I mean very well known for having extremely high-quality hair extensions at a reasonable and affordable price. That’s not by happenstance. We set out from the very beginning to have that reputation.
We specialize in customization. whether it be wigs or even men toupees, which have been a popular request lately… No matter what type of hair product a customer desires we can design it, manufacture it, and get it in their hands within a week.
What sets us apart from other hair companies is that we are American owned and family operated with our very own factory outside of Thailand. We source our product throughout Malaysia, Cambodia, India and Burma and manufacturer everything in house.
Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
I really don’t want to embarrass anyone, because my team really is a shy bunch. but here’s a few credits.
Emma D.: Was the support I needed to keep going, there were many times I told her that I was going to quit, but she encouraged me every single time to persist and keep fighting to win… without her, there would be no Dynasty Goddess Hair.
Shontea H.: This little jewel of a lady was pivotal, We traveled together from country to country, in the beginning, we tested samples and practiced wig making years ago. She was my partner in crime, and still is to this day.
Kay Laquant: Kay helped us so much with the business aspect of our company, from marketing to image building, and focusing on the identity of the company in order to stay consistent. Kay took months of mentoring and gave me what it would have taken 10 years to learn.
