Today we’d like to introduce you to Frank Sanabria.
Frank, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
To take you on a little Journey… My beginning was in 2015. I was working a comfortable job as a dental office assistant, having thought my future was set out. Never in a million years did I think I would leave Dentistry to pursue another career, let alone planning. While doing research to plan my own event at my home, I came across Eventiste Fine Linens and Event Rentals and met Ana Margarita. When the time came to meet, she helped design my event alongside me. Upon seeing my enthusiasm throughout the process, she suggested I explore the possibilities of venturing into the field and opening my own company. Initially hesitant about doing so, as it was unexplored territory. After helping friends and family members organize several small gatherings and receiving positive feedback, my passion for floral design, weddings and events grew. Thus was the spark of creation for Sanabria Events & Design.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
As when you venture into uncharted waters and undertake any new business, you must navigate and expect learning curves that give you new insight to help better your craft, better yourself, and better your service for your clients. With my experience thus far, there have been instances in which days do not go as planned, Vendors may not be punctual, or last-minute alterations to a bride’s dress cant be completed. As the planner, everything falls on your shoulders, as you’re responsible in overseeing every aspect of the wedding. To be quick on your feet and put out any potential fires that may arise is key, and making sure a back-up plan is set and ready to execute is cause for a more seamless, smooth event. Having all this preparation, your client and/or guest would be on a need to know basis with you. It hasn’t always been smooth sailing, but with every challenge, I have learned to turn a negative into a positive and take a lesson each time.
Sanabria Events & Design – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
We are a family-owned and operated business based in Miami. We offer full wedding and event planning along with custom floral design. We have been fortunate enough to not only plan weddings in Miami’s most prestigious venues but have had the opportunity to plan destination weddings in both Mexico and Dominican Republic. As the planner and floral designer, I help our clients with every aspect of their wedding from A to Z. As a team, It is our goal to bring their visions to life. Not only do I maintain a professional relationship, but garner the ability to create long term friendships.
Something I am most proud of is that majority of our clients have come to us from previous customer referrals. We have never had the need to pay for advertising because our business has grown organically and exponentially. Through our dedication and hard work, both from myself and my team, we have been recognized with Wedding Wire’s Couples Choice Award for five consecutive years beginning in 2016 to present day, in thanks to all of our amazing clients. I believe that the main aspect that sets us apart from other planning companies is that from the initial meeting. I finalize every potential client’s conversation with “I’m pretty much your new best friend.”
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
It brings joy to my heart, bringing happiness to my clients. From the room reveal after putting time and effort into each event and seeing their initial reaction to knowing that their vision has come to life and every minute detail has been achieved. From my time in the industry, this has been the most rewarding.
Our passion and motivation to seek new ventures within our means and continue to grow our company has lead us to be recognized and motivates us to set future goals. Leaving our mark and impressions on individuals by continuing to bring happiness and joy to every client has been our success story from day one.
