Meet Cleo J’Adore

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cleo J’Adore.

Cleo, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I’ve been songwriting and telling stories since I was a child. I’ve been singing, since I was a child too. Now that I’m older, I’ve realized that I’ve always had a special relationship with words. From writing poems to collecting t-shirts with powerful words labeled on the front to spoken word talent shows in high school, words have definitely been instrumental in my life. The same goes for music. It has always been there so due to that truth, I actually can’t pinpoint where I started. What I can say is that I was born with it. In retrospect, music and words have followed me all my life and showed up for me in so many ways: as a teacher, healer, friend, lover and provider. Knowing what I know now, I realize I was bound to end up at this point.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
No, it has not been a smooth road. The struggle I’ve faced is this balancing act we call life. I’ve been dealing with self, others around me, my environment, and past traumas that I won’t go into detail about at this moment.

Can you give our readers some background on your music?
I am Cleo J’Adore, both the business and the show. The Energysetter. I am a singer, songwriter and rapper. I’m all about funk, soul, hip-hop and authentic vibes. I released my album in mid-December 2018 titled, “Long Live The Queen,” and followed up with five music videos that have been released on my YouTube platform. It was my first project ever and I wanted to make sure I put my best foot forward so I intentionally made sure I was unique and genuine in my efforts. It worked.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success is mastery of myself and my artistry. I believe there’s a connection between the two but I’ll let you guys know what I find out later. Success is when my brand is shown respect for its true worth. I would see respect shown in how I and my name/brand is handled, in what I’m paid, in who collaborates with me and who sponsors me. Success is complete freedom.
