Today we’d like to introduce you to Tourissa Joseph and Ritz Gelin.
Tourissa and Ritz, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Well, Ritz and I (Tourissa) have been friends since middle school. We have always been into fashion and entrepreneurship so one day over the phone we just literally said why don’t we start an online boutique together. The rest is pretty much history in the sense that we wanted to find pieces that not only would be flattering on the both of us because we are different shapes and sizes but also something that we felt was affordable yet fashionable for every woman.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Oh no, it has not, everyday you learn something new. From getting your license and business in order. To finding the right vendors (which is an ongoing thing) to actually learning your customer and what they like.
We’d love to hear more about your business.
Our company is an online retail clothing boutique. We sell women’s clothing and accessories. I would say we are proud to be able to be one of many online boutiques but still be able to hold our own and not try to be like others. We intentionally try not to have the same clothing as other boutiques to set ourselves apart.
What were you like growing up?
We both went to parkway middle school in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. We were inseparable together. We lost touch when we went our separate ways for high school and college but found each other via Facebook and reconnected.
Pricing:
- We actually have a face shield that we are selling for $18 compared to competitors selling the exact one between $20-30.
- Our prices range between $25-$70.
