Meet Bryan Felix

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bryan Felix.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Bryan. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I began in the fitness industry in 2014 as a Crossfit Coach as I searched for a new career path after leaving the entertainment industry. From that point, I interned and worked as a strength and conditioning assistant as I developed into a Personal Trainer for all ages. I then became the Strength and Conditioning Coach at a local high school where I have trained a State Champion team and a continued streak of league championships with all the groups I’ve worked with since 2016. As a personal trainer, I have worked with high level and nationally ranked athletes and expanded to elderly individuals overcoming injuries to help improve their quality of life.

In the last two years, I got hired by a prestigious volleyball club in Los Angeles to run their strength and conditioning program and partnered with my brother to revamp and renovate a gym in Atwater Village, CA. The journey has been amazing so far and thus led to the creation of my personal training business.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The road has definitely been bumpy and scary at times but it’s all been worth it. In 2017, I took the so-called ‘leap of faith’ and left a job as a General Manager at a gym in order to grow more as a trainer and individual. That time I had decided I wanted to go back to school to get my Masters and one day get into physical therapy school as I felt like I had grown and made enough relationships to survive as a trainer. Then last year, the opportunity to become a gym owner presented itself and to be able to partner with my brother was and has been a blessing. Thankfully we have been able to adapt and find ways to function through this wild year and once we do get back to things, I’m very excited to see where all of this will go.

We’d love to hear more about your work.
Felix Strength and Performance is a group and individual training company. From sport-specific training, injury prevention and general population training, we do our absolute best to provide individualized training protocols to fit our client’s needs. I currently run a program for a highly recognized Volleyball Club in Los Angeles, CA, where I, along with my trainers, train over 500 players weekly.

Also, very happy to have Open Gym 323 in Atwater Village, CA, to train clients. This facility is great for those interested in Crossfit style or hit training as well as an open gym setting for Olympic lifting, gymnastics, or general strength training as there are opportunities to train in classes, alone, or with a trainer based on reservations.

Overall, I am very proud of where my business is with the relationships it has developed with all the families, individuals and companies I have worked with/for. We stand to help people become as fit as possible in the healthiest and safest ways possible and are happy to take on anyone looking to better themselves.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
The only thing I would change is doing this sooner and partnering with my brother from the get-go.
