Today we’d like to introduce you to Jacqueline Williams.
Jacqueline, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Ever since I can remember, I loved to create whether it was to doodle, photography, or decorating for family or work parties. There’s something about being a part of someone’s special day and seeing their reaction. It puts a smile on my face.
The #1 question I get asked a lot is, why balloons? Well, I truly see the world in colors! If you know me, I have a slight obsession with Sharpies, Haha! Balloons make people happy and they are colorful! I love how you can make an arrangement into a work of art!
I’ve been in the balloon world for about nine months now and it has been nothing but fun and I’ve met some great people! I have so much more to learn and look forward to what the future holds!
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has definitely not been a smooth road! There’s so much that I still have to learn. A lot of lessons learned on every installation. I appreciate those moments because that’s how I’ll improve my craft and offer better services to my clients.
Currently, I’m a one-woman show and do mostly everything on my own from logistics, blowing up balloons/prep, designing the arrangements, installing the balloons, social media, and answering all inquiries. I’m lucky enough to have help from family & friends and can’t wait for the day where I can bring staff on board!
Please tell us about Balloon Bar Miami.
Balloon Bar Miami came to me in my sleep, I woke up one day and wrote it down, opened an app and created my (then) logo all within minutes. I consider myself to be an impulsive person which can be a good or bad thing but in this situation, it’s what has driven me to give it my all.
I went with the name Balloon Bar because, just like a bar, you have a wide range of options. Hopefully down the road I can offer other options other than just balloons. Currently, I specialize in Organic Balloon Garland/Arches, Bespoke Balloon Bouquets and Balloon Walls just to name a few. I do my best to use top quality balloons in the industry, not only for looks but also that is eco-friendly! The balloons I use are 100% biodegradable, how cool is that?!
Miami has a huge market right now for Balloon Stylist, so it’s hard to set yourself apart from other artists. All I can do is continue doing what I’m doing, perfecting my craft, offering great customer service and try to be as original as possible! That’s what’s going to set me apart from the rest!
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
One thing I can say is that I had the best childhood! I come from a Cuban family and one thing’s for sure is we celebrated every occasion! We were a close-knit family and my cousins were like my siblings. Christmas was the best holiday of them all because we would have family drive down from out of state or vice versa and the kids would put on a show for the adults on Noche Buena to help time pass to open gifts. I know this is why I love to be a part of all types of celebrations. It reminds me of my childhood!
