Meet T’Erica Boyd of Iceytete in Miami Gardens

Today we’d like to introduce you to T’Erica Boyd.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I was 14 years old when these two girls that was about the same age as me started a photo boot business. At first, I was confused on what to do a business about, I didn’t know if I wanted to start a photography business or a hair business but I knew I wanted to start a business. Later on, in the year, I thought to myself I spend way too much on cosmetic jewelry why not start a jewelry business. I started talking to my parents about the idea I came up with they agreed to help me with my business, I always told my self 2020 was go be the best year for me round December of 2019 we started looking for vendors to start it, we bumped in some many people that was willing to help me start this business. My mom didn’t tell me anything but she knew I wanted to start a business she never told me a month when we was going to start. She decided to do things privately and hide it from me on April 11, 2020 *my birthday* she surprises me with my business iceytete.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It haven’t been smooth at all. I had to adjust myself in many different ways. I learn how to deal with customers and how a business should be ran. I am a very anti-social person. I really don’t like to talk to people I don’t know. I got the hang of communication is the key to running a business if you don’t communicate; how are you going to gain more customers.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
My business is basically about giving your life a little bit of flash to it. I am most proud that is actually growing and more people start to come to me. I only had this business for two months and my business did numbers something I didn’t expect it to do.

What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was very active. I always cheered and ran track; I never was just laying home. My mom always told her kids we have to play some type of sport to be active. While growing up, I faced a lot of obstacles in life but I fought threw them all and left it in God hands. My life was almost like a mountain. Some days I am high and some days, I am low but God knew all my problems. Till this day, I walk around with a smile on my face but nobody knows the pain behind the smile. On May 29, 2019, which was the most frustrating day of me and my family life, I lost my uncle, not only any uncle but a special uncle who taught my mother to be the greatest mother she is now. I thank god each and every day for better days.
