Today we’d like to introduce you to D’anna Aaron.
So, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I gained a love for writing in middle school, I remember being in my literature class (shout out to Mrs. Whittaker) And we were learning about poetry and I remember falling in love with this poem called what of a love unspoken by Tupac Shakur and “wonder” by Maya Angelou. I was shocked and amazed because I never knew Tupac was a poet.
So I was inspired to just write you know, I started off just writing my feelings down and how my day went, and the things that went on at home it became therapy for me. Slowly my venting turned into poetry. When I entered high school, I wanted to put my work out there I wanted people to read my work and share my story. I was also scared because I didn’t want anyone to steal my hard work, but I decided against it and took a chance and it took off from there.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Nothing is smooth when it comes to anything you do, your art, music, business, etc. it’s always a challenge. I know the struggles I came across was nobody was liking my work. Like I’ll literally post a Poem and noooooo one would like it and I’ll be so hurt like “wait a minute, I felt confident and y’all not gone like it lol” but I learned that you gotta be patient and passionate and just keep working a going hard. Your gonna get that recognition you looking for. Months past and my likes went up local artists wanted to work with me, small magazine collaborations and more.
We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
I am a creative writer, screenplay writer, Scriptwriter, Author, Poet and I also write music.
I am known for my creative writing skills. I am most proud of my brand getting the recognition it deserves I worked hard to get where I am and I’m glad others are seeing my talent. And what makes me different I don’t stick to one thing, I don’t place myself in a box, I am all things I am everything, and I like to try new things.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I experienced a lot of good luck, I just so happenedly come across opportunities after opportunities. I’m not gonna lie I missed out on my blessings a lot in the past because of fear and rejection. But overall I’ve been having good luck.
