Today we’d like to introduce you to Victor Feria.
Victor, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
At a young age, I was motivated to make something of myself—I wasn’t quite sure in what field or specifically what were my talents and skills. Fortunately enough, I came across some of the best mentors and was exposed to all the right opportunities that molded me into the leader I am today with Tangy Mgmt.
When I was five years old my parents, who were also highly motivated for a better life, enrolled in the lottery Visa system in Cuba; my family was the lucky few to win and our journey began in Miami. I grew up playing just about every sport you can imagine, it was my outlet and passion for many years and therefore, I believed that I would follow a career in this realm. Consequently, my love for sports did get me to my profession today but not directly. Instead, it veered me to my first hospitality job at 16, at a luxury golf hotel driving range were providing service to members was my responsibility, and ultimately where one of my first—of many–pieces of advice was given, “Show gratitude, listen and learn daily.” I worked my way through promotions within different departments in hospitality, using this newfound affirmation.
Never did I imagine that this first, part-time job that I thought would just pay my car and outings, would lead me into all opportunities thereafter, develop lifelong friendships with other experts, and ultimately grow the confidence to start a new hospitality company, Tangy Mgmt.
Has it been a smooth road?
Going into the business, I anticipated finding the right properties and growing the business was going to be the most difficult aspect; I was already comfortable communicating with guests and adhering to their requests and feedback therefore that wasn’t much of a challenge. Instead, I quickly learned that the setback in the short-term rental property field was precarious local ordinances that continuously change because this field is relatively new. Yet, the way I approached this was by staying active in not just my community, but all the communities where I manage properties. By participating in town hall meetings, conferences, and weekly networking events, I’ve been able to not only be aware but also adjust my company accordingly and provide accurate and honest information to my clients. I think our genuine demeanor and service I provide to property owners and guests has given me the confidence that I have something special in my hands.

At Tangy our focus is on “Quality hospitality for a sweet stay.” We see the connection between a local experience and a well-managed home to be the beginning of a successful experience for guests. In providing the best experience for guest we are ultimately providing a stress-free service for homeowners while optimizing their properties potential.
We specialize in short-term vacation rental property management in the South Florida area; predominantly in Miami. Vacation rentals have been around for years even however, technology has drastically improved. Therefore we’ve ditched the old ways of running rentals and allowed state of the art software do the heavy lifting. We market the homes and interact with guests using popular sites such as Airbnb as well as other platforms. Tangy Management’s advantage—and what has truly made us unique—is having a background in luxury hotels and hiring hotel trained housekeepers. This is how we assure your house feels like a home but runs like a hotel.
Aside from providing this service homeowners and giving guests the opportunity to enjoy Miami at a local level, I’m most proud of my Tangy team. We employ the same people we started with that believe in the vision and new concepts and therefore have stayed around for the ride. I’m proud to provide a stress-reducing environment that allows them to perform their skills while removing the hustle and bustle most experience from working in hotels. The team is essentially what has truly attributed to the growth and reliability of this company and I’m not only appreciative of them but also excited to continue growing this family.
What has been the proudest moment of your career so far?
I’ve always had an on-going metaphor about life is like taking a drive: You’ll have your speed bumps, smooth turns, sharp turns, U-turns, and straight dead ends. My “drive” has definitely had all of the above. So, it’s not so much a specific moment in route that I can pinpoint I’m proudest of, but instead it’s the culmination of my employers, colleagues, friendships, opportunities, and lessons which helped me get through these obstacles in my path. I’ve learned along the way that success is not possible without others. I’m fulfilled that I will always be able to reach out to those mentors and friends, reflect on what they’ve taught me, and utilize the tools I’ve been granted in because of them.
