Today we’d like to introduce you to Francesca Perini.
Francesca, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I was born and raised in Italy and came to Miami when I was 18. I played golf my entire life and was on the National Team in Italy, and I was offered a scholarship to play at Barry University in Miami Shores. Four years and a finance degree later, I was offered another scholarship as a Graduate Assistant for Athletics and pursued a dual master’s degree: MBA & Master in Sport Management.
Despite the many years of study under my belt, I honestly had no idea what to do after school. I loved social media as a pure user… the beautiful feed, the captions, and most importantly, seeing how brands communicated their mission on such innovative platforms. However, I had no idea I could actually make a career out of social media. A week after I graduated from grad school, I started working at TARA, Ink., a renowned PR agency in Miami. That’s where I really solidified my appreciation and understanding of social media as a marketing tool. I learned everything on my own reading from the internet, listening to podcasts, watching YouTube videos, etc. I am 100% self-taught and I think that has helped me a lot because I have been able to master all different areas, from photography to graphic design, from copywriting to content creation, and much more.
In March 2019, I opened Stellar Media Agency as an attempt to sustain myself, purely as a “test.” I was extremely lucky to sign my first three clients within a week, and this kept me going and pushing harder. One year later, I am still pinching myself for all the opportunities that I have encountered and for the trust that clients and businesses have put in me. I pride myself on having great relationships with my clients, and I feel honored to be able to share their stories.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
At the beginning, I was a one-woman-show, and this year has been a rollercoaster! I can honestly say that I have learned more in one year than the full decade before. Being a young woman entrepreneur is hard, whether people admit or not. I have been extremely lucky in finding associates and clients that respect me, my expert opinion, and my work. That’s really my biggest blessing.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Stellar Media Agency – what should we know?
Stellar Media Agency is a one-stop-shop for everything social media related. When people think of social media, they stop at “posting on Instagram and Facebook.” However, there is much more work, strategy, and possibility behind it. Having all of your platforms showing cohesiveness, being able to understand what type of content performs better for your account, planning campaigns with months in advance… Stellar Media Agency takes care of everything from social media management, reputation management, photography, community management, paid advertising, website creation, graphic design, and digital copywriting.
We have worked with all types of clients, from high fashion to hotels, from restaurants to gyms, from real estate to individual personalities. Our client portfolio includes Giuseppe Zanotti, Miami Design District, Ace Marks, Pilathon, Nabati, Greystone Miami Beach, Novotel Miami Brickell, and many more. Just last weekend we covered David Guetta’s Fundraiser at iconbrickell! We know that clients have very different needs, and we adapt our scope of work to truly assist them and make their lives easier. We honestly love being able to tell their stories!
Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
My husband was really the one installing the idea in my years and years ago, and it has always remained in the back of my mind. He has been my rock throughout this entire process.
Truly, though, my clients have been my “teammates” by trusting me with their businesses and pushing me to always learn something new. I am so incredibly thankful for their respect.
From my family and friends to old coworkers and new acquaintances. So many people have helped me get where I am now thanks to referrals, connections, and recommendations. The support I have received this past year has been mind-blowing!
