Today we’d like to introduce you to Ivonne Torres.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Ivonne. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
When I began the thought of being an Artist in 2003: my background was in interior design and visual marketing. I’ve always been fascinated with the elements of colors and textures within the mixed media genre. I came to a crossroads because I just started a family and I wanted to dedicate my time raising my children. I had an epiphany, I could do both, build a studio in my home and at the same time, raise my children.
The concept was wonderful, sharing the love for my career and having my family nearby. My passions grew and my inspiration created two of my most internationally recognized concepts in the Gratitude and Besukonas collections. My career as an artist has given me the ability to show my artistic creations in some of the world’s most welcoming places like France, Dubai, Monaco, Mexico, South Korea, Japan, Spain, Guatemala, and so much more. I continue to enjoy my profession and share my works with as many people as possible. My art speaks and reaches all walks of like and I hope to continue to share my love of the arts for as long as I can.
I define success by the art I create; my inspiration is my criteria. I must know internally that I’ve given one hundred and ten percent. Once I sign my work of art and hand over a certificate of authenticity to the collector my success and accomplishments have been confirmed. That feeling of euphoria is immeasurable.
Has it been a smooth road?
I can honestly say that nothing in life is smooth. Although I love being an Artist, there is so much detail that goes into creating, marketing, selling, logistics, and finding the right locations to show my art where I know it will be appreciated. However, with all that being said, I would do it all over again if I were to make the decision for the second time.
We’d love to hear more about your art.
I am an artist who creates works of art with acrylic on canvas. My medium is mixed media, and most of my works are large scale. I have two Internationally know collections, the Besukonas and Gratitude collection. They are recognized and have been selected for several awards across venues worldwide. My Art has been defined as an expressionist abstract. My paintings insight reactions of pure love and enjoyment.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
I believe the Art industry is changing every year and is moving in a positive direction. People are intimate to the Artist’s work and have so many choices in the works and price ranges. Also, Collectors are getting younger and younger. The appreciation, both physically and financially, are much more attainable. Art has become easily accessible through fairs, shows, and the internet. This shift creates a world of knowledge and allows even the curious art buyer to seek all the avenues that are now available.
