Meet Whitney Kerney of WK Creative Studio

Today we’d like to introduce you to Whitney Kerney.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Whitney. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
My first love was Fashion Design. From the very beginning, being a Fashion Designer was the only thing I could imagine myself becoming. I wanted to own my own clothing boutique filled with the clothes that I designed and live happily ever after. My love of Fashion Design came from my Grandmother, whose eclectic sense of style and over the top creativity filled my childhood. It was because of her I wanted to pursue a career in design.

Fast-forward a few years later, I felt as if Fashion Design wasn’t my calling anymore. I found myself enjoying the branding and marketing aspect of my job over the actual designing and making of the clothes. So, as any fearless woman would do, I made the switch. It definitely wasn’t as easy as I just made it sound, but here I am, nonetheless. Here I am as a Graphic/Brand Designer, running a boutique design studio, WK Creative Studio.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I am definitely grateful for everything that the man above has done for me and my growing career, but he has thrown some challenges my way. He is constantly shaping me as a woman and as a business owner. Mainly being confident in my work, overcoming imposter syndrome, finding my voice, establishing a work/life balance, and ultimately learning how to be a business owner.

WK Creative Studio – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I am the owner of WK Creative, where passionate individuals are provided with branding and creative services to meet all of their business, lifestyle, and social needs. Together, we work as a team to bring their vision to life and develop designs that can be shared with pride. I create websites, content, and digital brand collateral that stands out and adds personality to any brand.

I am most proud of the impact that my work has had on people. It still amazes me that people save and share my work on a daily basis. It means the world to me that people are inspired by my work and that I get to connect with people, brands, and businesses from all over the world. That’s so cool to me. I’m forever grateful!

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
I define success when you’re able to look at yourself in the mirror and be completely happy with the person who is staring back at you. When you’re constantly putting in the work, you never stop learning, you never stop growing, you continue to set and crush goals, and you wake up every day and be the best version of yourself. Success isn’t always about making money or having the most successful business, although that’s amazing and of course, the ultimate goal. However, success to me is about how you feel on the inside. As long as you know you did your very best today, you showed up and put in the work, that’s successful to me.
