Meet Irina Roth Neumann of Roth Private Advising Law in Brickell

Today we’d like to introduce you to Irina Roth Neumann.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Irina. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Coming from Venezuela, a country where people handle issues like it’s the Wild West, I was a bit apprehensive when I moved to the US. Even though I had practiced law in Venezuela, it was a whole different game in the States. I decided  to go back to law school in the States, and my mission would be to help immigrants like myself re-invent themselves. I wanted to guide them through the US legal system in the process of establishing their businesses.

I had no idea how challenging law school would be! Even though my English is good, I wasn’t accustomed to studying in English. It was a tough challenge to get through those huge, legal English textbooks during the first semester! However, like anything in life, you get used to it. In the end, I did well! Fast forward, seven years since I arrived in the States, and I now have my own law firm, Roth Private Advising Law, in Miami.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
My business has been and still is an exciting ride. I’m one of those people who need to feel challenged most of the time, which is exactly what I’m able to experience running my own business. I feel like being an entrepreneur gives you control of your own destiny. And I help my clients who are entrepreneurs, experience the control over their destiny, as well. As entrepreneurs we always manage to find solutions, and it makes us grow as a professionals and as a human beings.

What has also been a gift along this journey is the opportunity to help others. Just like my clients, I have experienced this too throughout my journey, and I am extremely grateful to those people who have helped me. It’s reassuring that there are amazing people who are generous with their time and influence.

Most importantly, we have to have a clear and positive mindset for what we want our business model to look like, which should be at the top of our to-do list everyday.

So, to answer the question, it has been exciting and well worth it!

Please tell us more about your practice.
I’m a restaurant and business lawyer.

Through my firm, Roth Private Advising Law, I’m able to provide law services in a personal, tech-driven way, using a pro-active approach. Clients get my phone number, and they WhatsApp me, so I’m accessible. I negotiate fees upfront and I deliver on a timely basis. Whenever I draft documents, I always provide my clients with a summary in Spanish. This way, my clients can easily understand what’s going on, if they’re not fluent in English legal jargon, which might be confusing to non-native speakers working with US attorneys. I also use the latest software, making it easier to interact with clients. I am passionate about encouraging clients to be pro-active regarding the legal aspects of their businesses, to avoid issues.

Additionally, I’ve always been a foodie (yes, I plan a restaurant route when I travel), so I especially enjoy working with my restaurant clients and food and beverage manufacturers. That’s why I decided to focus my practice on the restaurant and food and beverage industries.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I would like to help more clients with business law and restaurant work to give them a great experience. I want them to feel like they’re happy to go work with their attorney, and that they leave relieved because we covered everything.
