Meet Nasyezda Vega Vega of Bomba Creative Studio in Coconut Creek

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nasyezda Vega Vega.

Nasyezda, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
After ten years spent working in finance for companies like Citigroup and AIG, and with an entrepreneurial heart and passion to help others, I decided to join a Master’s degree in Global Affairs with an emphasis in Private sector and Multinationals from New York University. From there, my life changed forever. I did research Economic Growth in conflict zones, and particularly in countries like South Africa and Colombia.

Throughout that process, I aimed to identify what were the factors that allow many economies and particularly businesses to build sustainable growth while others are destined to fail. The later took me to the roots of our micro-economies and more in-depth to the small businesses and artisan markets. At that moment, I recognized that I had a particular combination of skills needed by small enterprises but that given their financial lack of resources, they were currently lacking of. Then, it became my mission and purpose to use my expertise in Corporate Strategy, International Marketing, Finance, Investor Relations and Business Development to help others succeed.

For over the past decade, I have helped lead new and innovative companies into the global marketplace. Through my experience, I have had the opportunity to work for both private and public sectors. From one-person productions to working with national country agencies, I help provide currency and universal visual appeal for those in need of marketing and branding. I founded Workartte, a nonprofit organization that represents a network of 25 head artisans and employees with over 125 people; helping artisans with branding, business development, and to connect with international markets. I lead the creation of Artisan brands like Emme, Enarte, Cocoon, Olin, & Hangimals.

Additionally, I have been a Brand Strategist and International Marketing Director for multinational companies like Zannasalud, where I led its expansion throughout five different Latin American countries.

In 2016, I moved back to Florida from Manhattan. Here, I found a set of different opportunities and clear challenges. I started working as an International Marketing Director for a brand strategist agency from Colombia called Mellow and Banana. Shortly after, I decided to expand my knowledge of the local markets by joining a Boca Raton agency, The Gab Group, as a Brand Strategist, where I helped managed and lead branding strategy projects for clients such as IPIC, PGA, Procacci, HDG, Twowaymed, Life Time Athletic within others.

During this experience, I realized that there was a gap in the market, and although there are many agencies in town, most do not reach start-ups or small businesses with their creative approach. Hence, I decided to create my own agency: BOMBA CREATIVE STUDIO.

Since our inception last year, we have had the opportunity to work with clients in different industries including beauty, real estate, retail, coaching consulting, consumer goods, design and construction. It has been an exciting and fruitful road seeing new emerging and small established businesses elevating their brands.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Definitely, not a smooth road. Like any other business and career, we have had our ups and downs. Transferring from NYC and Latin America to here in Boca Raton while working to build a local reputation and convey the message of what you are capable of achieving was – and is – always a challenge, especially when you hardly know anyone in town.

Furthermore, my background is very diverse and after working in different industries, sometimes it can be more of a challenge than a benefit – although, I always consider it should be the opposite! However, my educational background seems to emphasize on that. I hold a Master’s degree in Global Affairs with an emphasis in Private sector and Multinationals from NYU, a Finance and International Business Degree from USF and a Postgraduate – Global Competitiveness and Leadership degree from Georgetown University.

Given that, many people often ask me, what am I doing with design and branding strategy? I personally do not hold a creative education, and although I design certain products and some can consider me as an empirical designer, not having the designer background and the hands-on into the technology software is very challenging. Being able to convey a strategy, generally, one mostly visualized in your own head, and make it a reality definitely is not easy! However, it is very exciting once you see all the results and as an orchestra leader manage to lead the team into a successful new brand.

Bomba Creative Studio – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
BOMBA Creative Studio is a new type of branding strategy agency – not just here in South Florida, but globally. We work with start-ups, the Mom and Pop’s shops and or businesses that lack the financial resources to even imagine creating a brand.

We specialized in brand identity and social media content creation. We elevate brands to luxury status, giving them the appeal as well as a personality that will help them succeed in their individual markets. Additionally, with the new wave of marketing, BOMBA concentrates on bringing into the market contemporary marketing assets that can help brand development through social media. Assets that can help companies to stand out within the competition and that help them with gaining attention from a broader audience. We love and specialize in social media content creation such as animations, GIFs, video and photography. We believe these are assets that are often hard to reach for small businesses because of their built-in agency costs. We develop brands to connect with clients through empathy, bringing something new and unexpected to the markets.

Furthermore, we go beyond what a regular marketing agency can offer. We analyze our clients’ aspirations and target specifics from the current corporate organization, production, performance, supply chain, demand, market competition, and more. It is somewhat like a clinical analysis where we look in-depth into the current state of the businesses and lead them into a tier that is affordable and a step-by-step process for marketing development and growth. Also, we work with our suppliers to help our clients lower their production costs while still producing high quality, customized and differentiated materials and products. We not only do this to lower marketing costs and assets productions but also sometimes we even partner/match our clients with artisan and/or manufacturing facilities for the development of their own products.

At BOMBA. our goal is to help the overall growth of the company – not just to create a beautiful design. We want brands to grow, to pop, to boom!

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
Beyond a one specific moment, I believe there was a chain of three specific instances I can definitely recall. The first one was when I was appointed by the Government of Taiwan to represent the country of Colombia in the development of International Trade and International Relations. The latter led me to learn and replicate the OTOP (One Town, One Project/Taiwan Agency) methodologies for the creation of my own nonprofit brand firm that helps artisans to position themselves and create branding for their introduction into the luxury international markets while preserving handmade traditions, Workartte.

The second one, was when I was recognized as a social entrepreneur, by being selected as one of the Top Young leaders and entrepreneurs for the Ibero American program of Global Leadership and competitiveness of Georgetown University (GCL). This is a title and opportunity that only 461 emerging leaders from 22 Latin American countries have earned. GCL leaders have generated over 100 initiatives to date and impacted more than 2.7 million people in the region.

And the third standout moment was when I was invited as a speaker to the McDonough School of Business (Georgetown University) where I presented my Artisan nonprofit and strategy to improve and expand branding for artisanal communities in Latin America, and presented the organization as a business case in the area of design, economic sustainability, and entrepreneurship.

I believe these three are a combination of one specific goal that I have had throughout my career of being recognized as a successful social entrepreneur who helps with the growth of brands and businesses. A recognition that I take with pride and honor.
