Today we’d like to introduce you to Tapon Mahamud Jony.
So, before we jump into specific questions about what you do, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
About career
I helped the 2016 summer Olympics to cover Modern Pentathlon and Rugby7 event. I am one of the crucial broadcast crew members for the Japan Summer Olympics 2020. Me and hundreds broadcast crew member who will help to broadcast the event to the 1 billion viewers around the world. Olympic Broadcasting services choose hundred of professionals around the world to make the event successful. Popular national and international daily newspaper The Inqilab, Ekushe Television, Probashi Bangla TV, New Nation, Bangla Mail, McMaster University, NTVBD published an article about my contribution to the Olympic Games and broadcast industry. Me and my team members helped ULAB TV (First campus TV in Bangladesh) setup for the university student to learn hands-on post-production, broadcasting and broadcast journalism. I served Diganta Television, Independent Television, Thakral Information, HAK Japan Tech Singapore, Bee IPTV Singapore, etc. I have a membership in following Society of Broadcast Engineers, Bangladesh Business Chamber of Singapore, IEEE Broadcast Technology Society, Singapore Bangladesh Society.
About Me
Tapon Mahamud Jony hails from Dhamrai a thana under Dhaka district in his home country Bangladeshi and has worn multiple hats in the broadcasting industry. Tapon holds Diploma Engineering in Computer Science, Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical & Electronics from IBAIS University Bangladesh, MBA from Cardiff Metropolitan University and Diploma in Project Management from ALISON Ireland. With constant growth, he acquired all the knowledge needed to run a successful broadcasting career.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There were lots of challenges in this journey. I had limited learning opportunities back in my hometown Dhaka while I worked for several TV stations there. Then, I have flown to Singapore to explore more about this Broadcast industry and upgrade myself.
Before I got a final call from Olympic Broadcasting team it took a year to evaluate whether I am the perfect fit for the crucial position.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Tapon Mahamud’s extensive portfolio is second to none, a de facto of a professional standard. Tapon spends most of his time focusing on his work and searching for new inspiration and experience. When asked about where he draws his strength from the fondly smiled and said “Success is what motivates me to always do a good job. Knowing the fact that my hard work and perseverance will help me achieve greater professional this is what keeps me going”.
Tapon Mahamud’s upbeat attitude, philanthropic lifestyle and positive energy culminate to make him one of the most sought after broadcasters in the world today. The celebrated broadcaster and author of the book titled “Live Broadcast Technology” have drastically changed the broadcasting industry as he continues to grow the visibility reach of his audience.
