Today we’d like to introduce you to Sarah Rotenberg.
Sarah, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Growing up, I always had a camera in my hand, whether it was my grandfather’s polaroid camera, an iPod camera or even a disposable camera. I was always wanting to capture moments and make sure to document everything. I dreamed of being a photographer one day and even majored in graphic design and photography. Though I never believed in my self enough to proceed with photography full time so I then went on to teach preschool. I loved teaching it brought out my creative side and send parents photos of their children while they were making special memories was super filling. I taught for 4.5 years and loved every day of it, and on September 4th, 2019, I had a work accident. I wasn’t able to walk regularly for several months and would no longer be able to go back to teaching. This was a moment in my life that I will never forget, it pushed me to do things I’ve always been afraid of and mostly, it helped me get to a place where I never thought I would get to. It pushed me to become who I always imaged myself as a Photographer. From February 2019, I have been learning so much about my self and the photography world. I have worked with so many incredible people and projects. I love helping my community grow by helping them create content for their local stores and companies. I am so grateful for each and every opportunity and every beautiful moment I have been able to capture for friends and families of South Florida.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Definitely, there were moments where I have felt stuck, uninspired and unsure of the future. Though I used those times to remind myself why and how I started and what I wanted to accomplish.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Reframingmoments – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
I run a full-time photography/videography business. Most companies specialize in only one type of sector in photography. I am proud to say I do it all, and I’m always looking to learn more. Whether it’s a beach family photoshoot or a newborn photoshoot or even weddings. I’m proud of myself for always challenging myself and never giving up on any of it. I have done editorial shots, fashion, toddlers, events, family celebration and more.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
When I just started, it was just photography but now, I offer videography as well which I truly never thought I’d love as much as I do today. Something new that I’ve only recently started is helping people rebrand their companies on social media. One of my best friends who has her degree in marketing, and I have started our own social media consulting company. We have been working with creating content for all sorts of local companies, artists, musicians, and even trainers.
