Meet Rob Allen

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rob Allen.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Rob. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I come from a musical family, so naturally, my days and nights were filled with a variety of sounds. From the Eagles to Michael Jackson, Andrea Bocelli to Marc Anthony, my mother and father instilled the love of music in me from an early age. My grandfather is Ricardo Blanco, of the famous Trio Los Condes and my father is Roberto “El Galan” Blanco, of the famous Trio De Oro. One thing I am grateful for is my parents never pushing music onto me, instead of letting me develop an interest in certain sounds. It started with drums, then piano and eventually guitar, but I always had the love of singing. My earliest memories are riding in the back of an old car while the radio blasted Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey, and here I am hitting all of their notes. From New Kidz on the Block to Sade, my interest in music started around seven years old. As I aged, I found myself in the chorus every year, no matter what the school and developed great relationships with other singers. Music has always helped me understand my feelings and was able to guide me through certain moments in my life. It was never a particular song for me, just a collection of different sounds that made my mind spin into creativity. With music being a universal language, I have been able to connect with people from all over the world and in turn, they have connected with me. The beauty of being able to express yourself is still something I will never get used to on a complete level, mostly because I always feel something different every time I want to write or vibe on some sounds. My music is not a genre, it’s just me and all of my sides. I just do what I feel and it continues to become a bigger part of me as I age. I only wish to keep working on me, so what you get is me at my best.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
A smooth road does not exist. Smooth only lasts for so long and eventually, the road will have its imperfections, causing you to either fix it or build another road. I have been told that I didn’t look the part, didn’t fit the mold. I had to lose weight, then gain weight. I have been told time and time again that I am just not good enough, or being told you were amazing, but not worth a dollar of someone’s time. All of that just makes you better, even when it stings. You have a right to be pissed off and you better be pissed off, just let it run its course and kill it next time they see you.

Tell us about your work.
I run Imagination Allen Inc. with my father. I am best known for being a Singer and songwriter and also a vocal producer. Helping people find their voice in the booth and on stage. I also specialize in Voice over work and work closely with a local television production company that has aired my voice in over 10 countries. I have also done jingles for apps and remixes for companies in the likes of popular music with a lyrical twist. I take pride in everything I create and am grateful for every opportunity that I come across. I work hard night and day to do what I love and keep my clients happy. What sets me apart from the next person are two things; Number 1, I am a real person and you will feel that from the jump. I am no kiss ass and I don’t like to waste my time and number 2, I create real content. I am not a carbon copy with no emotion or passion. I am everything you were already thinking you wanted, just brought to life. All of this is possible from the support I have gotten, years of dedication and the teams I have collaborated with and continue to work with.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Passion. You have to be able to cry, yell, smile and scream. Life is no damn walk on the beach in the summer. It’s a stroll on a volcano about to erupt. As beautiful as it is to be on the “right side of the pavement” if you don’t allow yourself to feel with passion, you will never find the beauty in everything.
