Today we’d like to introduce you to Moxey Moxey.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Moxey. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
My name is Moxey. I’m a father and a serial entrepreneur born and raised in Queens NY and my journey to entrepreneurship started back when I was about 12 years old. As I watched my single mother, this beautiful woman who single-handedly brought her family to this country, working daily to build her empire, I understood why I had no other choice but to do the same. Build a legacy that my four children and the rest of my family would benefit from.
I started by selling CD’s, then T-shirt’s out of my car. Creating convenience by bringing the product to the consumer. Then, when I was 27 I had gained enough wisdom and experience to launch my first product, NOSO Wallet which was successfully funded through Kickstarter, and quickly gained attention from Fox News who sought out an interview with me for selling over 5,000 units within six months. NOSO sold to countries like Dubai, Australia, China, the US and many more.
My journey, however, did not end there. In 2014 I noticed a demand for a diverse ambient space where people from all walks could enjoy some good music, hookah, and art, so my partners and I opened up Loud Hookah Lounge. Loud hookah lounge was a hidden gem in the city of Orlando. It was where I curated my first art show, hence solidifying our staple in the city.
Immediately after that, we ventured into the club scene for a short time but it wasn’t in alignment with where I was at that moment, so needless to say, it was short-lived. I had to take a step back and get back to our calling. We created an incredible art tour where we graced some of the most well-known cities on the east coast. The tour traveled from Atlanta, GA to New York, NY and then back down to Orlando, Fl. We even teamed up with Natuzzi and Capital grille to close out the art tour on an ultimate high.
After the art tour, I felt an intense urge to feed my desire to not only create an impact but to continue to inspire those around me. We acquired a great location in Ivanhoe Village where we nestled our roots and opened Loud Gallery. Loud is a creative hub for art and music where artists and art lovers meet. A place where the art and the artists are the same. At the loud gallery, we curated numerous art shows, pop-ups, events for nonprofits and suicide prevention, book signings, networking and entrepreneur events featuring names like Google and Jetblue. The goal for loud is to convert into a nonprofit so that we can continue to create a necessary safe space for the art and music community in different cities.
It was at the loud gallery where I announced that we would be putting together Orlando’s first-ever indie music festival featuring local artist local painters and local vendors. On September 28th we hosted a festival for the people ran by the people and it was one of my proudest moments.
All my life I’ve been a leader and to see the impact that I’ve made in this city is humbling. And as much as it seems like I’ve accomplished, it doesn’t stop here. But, just as a magician would never reveal his tricks, who would I be to ruin the surprise? You’ll just have to stay tuned.
