Today we’d like to introduce you to Beth Daly.
Beth, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
After several years of owning and operating a very successful hair salon located in the NE Fort Lauderdale area, I was stricken with Multiple Sclerosis. This disease rendered my right side completely numb and as a result, I could no longer cut, color, blow dry, etc… As I am right handed.
After much contemplation and encouragement from longtime salon clients who were/are Realtors, they convinced me to get into the Real Estate world and go to school to become a Realtor. I have always had a passion for architecture and real estate and it seemed so natural to me. As soon as I was licensed as a Sales Associate I began training with a local real estate Broker and liked it so much I decided to go back to school to get my own Broker’s license. That was in 1998.
Since then, almost a full, glorious 20 years later here I am. I am blessed to share my success with my customers/friends. Hard work and dedication does pay off! Over the past 2 decades, I have worked just about every single day. As a Realtor, there’s no “day off”… If you are going to be successful in this business you just have to know that. Helping people has to be in the forefront of your mind and heart. Money should NEVER be the focus. Rather, helping people is the focus. Helping people find “the home”….The home where they’ll start their family. The home that they will “downsize” to after the kids go away to school.
The home that they all grew up in that is now “too much” for the aging parents. This is a “people business”. Real Estate is personal and delicate. I am blessed to say that I help people make their dreams come true. Home ownership is one of the biggest dreams that many endeavors to enjoy. I help make dreams come true. I am truly blessed to be an integral part of so many lives here in sunny SE FL.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
You could say that the struggles may be found in the changing market. I don’t really find this as a struggle though. I look at the changing market as a learning opportunity. This is an opportunity to shift focus a bit, to implement more creative strategies and find alternative ways to market and reach those who need our services.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Beth Daly RE/MAX Preferred Live By the Sea – what should we know?
Our company is based on integrity, honesty and hard work. We specialize in residential real estate in the Fort Lauderdale, Lighthouse Point, Pompano Beach, Boca Raton area, mostly on the east side of town. Relocations are a big part of our business as well as up-sizing and down-sizing locals… It’s fun and exciting to introduce new residents to our area. Sharing our local attractions, businesses’, restaurants and events is really fun. We also often help with the delicate task of relocating seniors who must now move due to illness, the loss of a spouse, or just because the house is now too much to handle. We enjoy the fruits of a portfolio of over 600 real estate related domain names that drive traffic to our website. We are most proud of the many smiling faces we are happy to see around town, the hugs we enjoy and the constant stream of referrals that come to us as a result of our attention to detail and the results. I think what sets us apart is our work ethic and our “willingness to help” attitude. Our tagline is “Million Dollar Service in Every Price Range”, this is so true… From a cooperative priced in the mid $50,000’s to waterfront properties in the multimillion-dollar range, the focus remains “doing the very best job for our customer”.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Integrity is everything to me. You cannot put a price on integrity nor can you “get it back” once it’s “lost”. Either you have it or you don’t. If you treat others as you would like to be treated, it’s all good. People feel this. People are then confident to recommend you to others as they know the “core” of your business/life model; Integrity… Always doing what is right. This is what I believe is the most important part of my success.
Education is also very important. It’s essential to be up to date on what’s going on with the local area, construction, pricing, inventory and upcoming changes. Knowing our contracts and the associated addenda and having the knowledge to be able to explain these documents/things to our customers is so important.
