Meet Arathi Ramappa of Arathi Concepts in Miami Beach

Today we’d like to introduce you to Arathi Ramappa.

Arathi, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I was born in Miami and grew up on the west coast of Florida. After college, I went to India and was doing social work in the slums and villages. I decided to take a computer programming class while I was there, and I realized that it brought out a creative side in me. I thought, why not do this for a little bit and then go back to working in the social service sector. So I got certified as a Microsoft developer 20 years ago and quickly went into tech and operations management. I ended up living in Europe setting up offices globally for a major corporation.

It was exciting, but I became burnt out. I decided that if I am going to put this many hours in for another company, then why not put it towards my own company. I left and started a company called Jayati Technologies, where I consulted on technology and business management to several start-ups and major corporations for ten years. During this time, I also was the owner and administrator for Radiology Facility that my family-owned. I became an entrepreneur.

While running these two businesses, I hit a wall. I was overly stressed and decided to make small changes in my life by doing more things that brought me joy, and I gave myself mini mindset challenges to make my thoughts more positive throughout the day. As a result, all areas of my life and business went to another level in the best of ways.

All this time, though, I knew that I needed to get back to being of service to others even though I loved tech and business. Changing my mindset made me finally return to this purpose, and in 2015 I became certified as an Executive and Spiritual coach. I created my coaching company, Arathi Concepts, that focuses on coaching individuals, corporate coaching, and speaking on emotional intelligence and spiritual intelligence. It feels incredible to finally be doing my life’s work and living in my purpose. Out of all the businesses I’ve had, this one is the most fulfilling and fun.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I don’t think anything in life or business goes exactly as we planned. There have been challenges in every business I ran. They could range from problems with generating revenue, operational issues, tech issues, or issues with team members or clients. However, the biggest struggle I needed to overcome and still work on daily is taming my inner self-talk and letting go of perfectionism. I work on not beating myself up when I feel like I’m not doing enough, feel overwhelmed, or stressed out. Stress only creates bad decisions and lowers my energy. I remind myself that I grow through each moment, I’m always exactly where I need to be, and I’ll figure out whatever is in front of me.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Arathi Concepts – what should we know?
With my company, Arathi Concepts, I help individuals and organizations figure out how to be more productive, stress less, deal with conflict, understand their blind spots, and find better solutions so that they thrive in life and business. I help people optimize and leverage their emotional intelligence and keep them accountable to achieving their goals.

The services I offer are:

Individual Coaching: I provide a flexible three-month (12 sessions) coaching package for one-on-one coaching sessions. Sessions are conducted via zoom, phone, or in person. In my executive coaching, I work with C-Suite, senior executives, entrepreneurs, and professionals that want to become better leaders, build better teams, and improve their lives. As a spiritual coach, I work with individuals who wish to use concepts such as the law of attraction and mindfulness to enhance their lives or businesses.

Corporate Coaching/Workshops: I work with organizations to help their leaders and teams learn how to deal with conflict to become better problem solvers and increase collaboration and productivity. I do this through workshops, team-building exercises, and individual coaching.

Speaking: I speak at conferences and events on how to apply emotional intelligence or spiritual intelligence to different areas of life and work.

What sets me apart is that I’m not about fluff. I use data-backed methodologies that have been proven to help enhance your emotional intelligence and create success. Since I’ve been an entrepreneur and corporate executive, I understand what executives and organizations go through. Lastly, I continuously work on my own emotional intelligence to ensure that I walk the talk.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Being a life long learner, viewing failure as an opportunity, having a positive mindset, and using kindness and compassion all have helped me achieve whatever I set out to accomplish. However, the one trait that sticks out the most is believing in myself. I couldn’t try new things and start businesses if I didn’t first think that I was able to do it. I’ve always felt that if I don’t know how to do something, I’ll figure it out. It’s this knowing that has helped me persevere, and it also makes me not care about what others think. It’s not only been integral to my success, but it keeps me happy too.
